    Do one

Winning 'right' wouldnt be compromised because Hodgson was the manager. That suggestion is buffoonery.

    Your priorities are inherently skewed.

I couldn't give a flying one if anyone outside of the Club liked our manager or not. What I do care about is the way the team plays the game, both tactically & in spirit.

I don't think there's too much doubt that Mourinho would make us successful. However, the cheating, diving & play acting coupled together with the very one dimensional counter attacking football would drive me away from Anfield.

Are you trying to wind me up?

No they're not. It's not about winning at all costs mate. I bet you would have turned a blind eye if we'd turned into a Man. Utd no?

I see your viewpoint but this is not for me and I would think that for a lot of people it would be the same. Just acknowledge that it's an aspect that can't be ignored, even if you don't agree with it.

Yeah but you're missing my point - it's not about winning 'at all costs' sure - and no, i wouldnt want to turn into Man Utd.

But you pinpointed 'pundits and other managers liking roy' - and you're using that as your 'at all costs' example - which is daft.

If we're winning games consistently and the worst thing about roy is that pundits/other managers like him - who the **** cares about that???

Dont try and pretend you're in a majority club with this one - if we won 20 games in a row, 90% or more wouldnt give a **** that roy might be liked by pundits/other managers.

I can't believe you two have been going for half an hour about something you both know is never going to happen.

No, thinking about it, actually I can.
            .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

I've come to see that's pretty normal round here

                Random stats:

                * Only Manchester United and Arsenal have won more than Liverpool's 16 points from their last eight games.

                * Strike pair David Ngog and Ryan Babel scored two goals from three shots against Aston Villa on Monday night.

                * Liverpool have not conceded a league goal at Anfield in the last 310 minutes of football.

I only pinpointed this because you mentioned it. I was referring to a more broader point.

But then again, it would still greatly annoy me if I had to endure the sight of Andy Gray eulogising on Hodgson, and to see our manager gladly playing a part in this game of fondling. We all know something isn't right when Andy ****ing Gray is waxing lyrical on a Liverpool manager.

Good stats them tbf. Slightly worrying is lack of chances for the strikers.

On Roy, if he won us the league he could throw the celebration at old trafoord and put the title down to Alexf for all I care. In fact if he just got us 4th I'd admit he was the right appointment.

I'd still want him gone even if he does get 4th though. Would enhance his reputation and would leave us in a better position than when he came. Job done tbh. 4th and a trophy and that would be class.

But I said all this after the Chelsea game. Then we blew points at Wigan and Stoke. We'll see what happens.

Mentioned something about us 'only' being 10 points off top spot - and taking great joy in telling everyone how, at the same stage last season, we were 13 points off top spot.

"They're closer" remarked Gray, in that emphatic tone that he has, which tries to tap the viewer on the shoulder and say 'Hey listen, I am serious'. "Oh yes, closer" added Keys, in a 'chimp desperately trying to please his master' style. The cringe factor was only exceeded by the interview they conducted with Hodgson.

Aye, moaned about this elsewhere. Infuriating.

6th is on-track as far as I'm concerned. Id say Bodge had done a decent job & admit I was wrong & sing Bodge's praises. But, I still dont think that would merit getting rid of The Unmentionable Man & I'd still want someone to take us into the new season with a long-term vision & progressive strategy.

6th is not good enough. Rafa got sacked for 7th. Minimum requirement is 4th, regardless of how much other teams spend.

I know, but it is where we stand squad-wise at the mo.

I dislike the bloke but 20 wins on the bounce is amazing.

                              It'll never happen.

not goiod enough for me. He has stability above him and the club has a brighter future. that alone gives him a big advantage in terms of motivation compared to last year.

4th or he goes. its that simple. only reinforced by the turgid, stab-me-in-my-eyes-please standard of football that he's serving up.
