Respect to him if he gets 4th, TBH I can't see it though. But I think we need someone in the job who can build us up long term and Roy isn't that man.Originally posted by banditos View PostIn the very unlikely scenario that he somehow gets us to 4th, he's still gotta go. He'll never win us anything of note and he's got nothing near the ethos required for an LFC manager.
If he gets us 4th I'll take my hat off to him and he can leave with his head held high. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Newcastle should represent a decent chance of getting an away win (even with our record), they're on a poor run: no wins in the last 5 league games 3 of which were at home.Originally posted by malg View PostI find it amazing that some think he could ever take us on a good run, my gast will be all of a flabber if we get a win at barcodes at the weekend. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I think NESV will be bringing in their long term man this summer. I've no doubt about that. A season to restructure and then kick on from then. It'd be fantastic if we can get him in sooner but I just can't see it. So the summer will do.Originally posted by Exiled_red View PostRespect to him if he gets 4th, TBH I can't see it though. So if Roy gets 4th then he can leave with his head held high (overlooking the ****e football of course). If he doesnt then the conclusion for me is that we'd have been better of sticking with Rafa and therefore Purslow/Carra/whoeverthe****itwas screwed it up.

One of my main concerns in keeping Bodgson, is what he spends money on in January. Seeing some of the links with players recently is a little worrying. I would say if we have to keep him, then nothing should be spent in January if he gets a lot to spend, I think the Americans have bigger ideas for him ( like they actually think he is the man to take is forward). It's a prediction thread on a wish list.

i think the americans believe in commoli to oversee the spending such that we only invest in the 'statistically sound' value for money purchases. such that should the new man come in and not like 3 out of 5 of them for example then the loss will not be so huge.
those that roy & commoli agree on that we can do a deal for we will sign. if commoli doesnt agree however then i dont see them being signed.
but roys a yes man isnt he so he'll just say 'yes damien, three bags full damien'

But I never said he shouldnt go FFS! I even had a go at someone for this earlier for saying he'd done enough to get until the season-end. "Decent job" is not good enough for LFC, but it's a lot better than I would expect from Bodge from the evidence thus far. Maybe me saying "sing The Bodge's praises" made my post a little opaque, I dunno.
Of course below 4th (or even 4th itself) isnt good enough for LFC, but we dont have a squad capable of 4th at the moment after the Yanks' disinvestment & Purslow's/Bodge's decisions to get rid of Aquilani & Insua, coupled with the huge spending of Citeh/Spuds. We have the 6th best squad, therefore 6th is on target for Bodge. It'd take a huge **** up by both sides for us to finish 4th & I dont think both are gonna do that. I'd wager a better manager would have us competing until the last with a genuine chance though.
For the record, even if Bodge got us 4th, I'd still want him gone cos of his terrible football & atrocious interviews.
Finally, do I really have to clarify yet again the fact that I was appalled at sacking Rafa for finishing 7th? It's almost as tedious as having to defend him to the likes of Parkins.3rd place. Worst champions ever.

But if rafa had to ship out because we didnt get 4th then roy can ****ing well leave and take carragher with him.
**** whether its achievable based on squad. If it means has to punch above his weight a bit then surely thats what manager of the year should do?
FWIW we basically agree and im not arguing with you. Just asking about one point. any frustration is at our situation having replaced rafa with roy.

We aren't capable of beating anyone away ever with Hodgson in charge.
Yes we might nick the odd win but thats it, he is a disgrace.
If he must have learnt one thing from 35 years in management it's that his method of setting up sides to play away from home in every single league he has worked in DOES NOT WORK.
