Liverpool PL away form under RafaOriginally posted by Daniel mote View PostAlso that season wasnt the norm away from home. His away record overall was poor
.............Pl....W....D.....L.....F.....A....PTS
2009-10..19....5.....6....8....18....20...21
2008-09..19...13....4....2.....36...14....43
2007-08..19....9.....7....3.....24...15....34
2006-07..19....6.....4....9.....18...20....22
2005-06..19...11....4....4.....26...16....37
2004-05..19....5.....4...10....22...26....19
That's an average of 29.3 points a season.
He won 43% of away games, drew 25.5% and lost 31.5%
Also it could have been higher given that in two seasons (2004-05 & 2006-07) we rested players for games for the CL finalsLast edited by Exiled_red; 20-12-10, 04:10 PM.The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

CBA answering all this to be honest, but given that our most potent attacking threat (Torres) credited Rafa with a huge role in his amazing scoring record at LFC (as opposed to his average one at Atletico), telling him where to run etc on Prozone & added a sizable amount of goals & assists to Gerrard's game, I find your 1st point rather ludicrous.Originally posted by fred_plasticine View Posthow about he had taught the players at his disposal some attacking moves?how about he had focused on how to break teams down instead of only focusing on controlling the game?
how about he had tried to improve our attacking set pieces?
how about he actually tried to transform babel into something like a wenger or fergerson had done?
it's easy to shift the blame away from him by saying he didn't have the right players.
playing proper attacking football is easy when your squad's full of talent. it's another thing to get them to play attacking football with some limited players.
he didn't even try because his emphasis is somewhere else. somewhere in the defensive midfield area.
blame it all on g&h. blame it all on a lack of money. bravo.
the thing is, you see, we had the chance to win the title in 09 but we blew it over the xmas period with the series of uninspired, dull, lacklustre football that we've come to accept during his tenure.3rd place. Worst champions ever.

Let me get this straight - are you saying we should 'move on' and stop talking about Rafa coming back to LFC because 'you wouldnt want him'?Originally posted by danperkins View PostLove this Rafa thread.
Rafa coming back is laughable, not only is there a more likelihood of me getting a hand job of Jessica Biel, i wouldn't want him back, move on boys for god sake. I know this is the Rafa thread but even talking about him returning to LFC is ridiculous chatter.

What has he done top make him 'fantastic' and if 'young' and 'enthusiastic' are 2 of your main criteria for a new manager then that really narrows it down..............Originally posted by danperkins View PostCoyle IMO will be a top man in time, fantastic motivator. Young and enthusiastic manager, seems to enjoy the managerial role. One for the future, not for us now though.
Owen Coyle is the current media manager of the moment.
Nothing more, nothing less.
No-one was saying he was great when Burnley were getting battered every week before he joined Bolton.
Edit: I forget to mention that you see 'enjoying his managerial role' as a bonus - I should hope he does for his 10k a week or whatever he is getting. The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.
