    [QUOTE=PC Plod;1818680]As opposed to Bodge's 14% away record in the league.[/Q

Sorry did i say that hodgson record was good??

If rafa has proven that he can produce a good enough away record to get us into the top 4 and on one occasion, challenging for the title (as well as competing in the CL regularly) - and he managed this largely under the ownership of Hicks & Gillett, who made sure he was somewhat hamstrung...

Why is it unreasonable to think he could do the same again, if not better, under owners who back him?

I am putting it into context mate, no inference about you. Why so jumpy?
        3rd place. Worst champions ever.

Coyle would be another flavour of the month appointment. Granted he's showing great potential but he'd need to do a hell of a lot more before I'd even consider him. If he ends up as our next manager...I'll be in despair. Is that all you need to do to become LFC manager?

            Poor????

I'd like to know who outside of Man U, Arsenal, Chelsea have better records over the same period of time.

I always liked Rafa but in the end i think it was correct he left. We need a young attack minded coach who will take us to the next level. Didier Deshamps please.

Coyle's doing great, but he would need to have Bolton on the cusp of the CL places, at least 2-3 season on the bounce, before we should consider him.

Plus, i would need to watch a lot more Bolton games, before i could say whether he has a good footballing mentality, in terms of attack/defence balance.

Owen Coyle is the current media manager of the moment.
                    Nothing more, nothing less.

No-one was saying he was great when Burnley were getting battered every week before he joined Bolton.

Edit: I forget to mention that you see 'enjoying his managerial role' as a bonus - I should hope he does for his 10k a week or whatever he is getting.
I am in no way, shape or form saying i want him as the LFC manager, he has long way to go before that could even be considered so lets gets that one outta here

But IMO he is one for the future. And Carlos Tevez earns a couple of hundred grand a week and he doesn't enjoy his role of kicking a football around a pitch, so go figure

Losing 35 games away from home. Thats the reason we only once went close to winning the league.

I think you'd struggle to find managers whose away loss record is much below 32%

if rafa is available he's the choice for me.

Would love Rafa back but can't see it happening.

As for Coyle, definitely I would be happy with him if there was any truth in the rumor, think it's bull**** to be honest.

Coyle is going to be a top drawer manager, it's inevitable. As with Villas-Boas this guy is destined for the very top it's only a matter of time before he becomes boss of a big club.
Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."

Sweeping statement. I haven't seen much to say that he's going to be a 'top drawer manager'. What are the characteristics that you think will lead him to become one?
                              Are we winning?

I cannot believe Coyle is even being mentioned. laughable

He doesn't even know what its like to win a trophy as a manager. He has won **** all in 5 years, He might offer potential, but so did Babel and look where that got us.
