I can't agree that the two hoofers Carragher and Skrtel, particularly Jamie "Row Z" Carragher are in anyway better than Kyrgiakos with the ball. I watched him closely yesterday and there's only Agger who'd be better on the deck than him. Not only is he at least the equal of Carra and Skrtel in defence, he's a constant threat up front, whereas the other two offer zero threat. I'd have him and Agger as first choice any day of the week

Name one - just one - forward that's ripped him to piecesOriginally posted by Scratch View PostDon't think perkins has changed his opinion. He admits Soto has been a good signing for us, but he's right in the fact that does not make him a good footballer, cos he isn't. He's decent enough, but a decent, pacy forward could rip him to pieces...good in the air yes, but so am I...i'm still not LFC standard tho.
Put it this way, is he the sort of player that, if he played for another club, we should be targetting? Probably not. And that says it all, decent signing, but not a good footballer overall.

His 2 footed challenge on Fellani was worth £1.5 mill alone!
Personally I'd rather see Wilson or Ayala getting more minutes or in the current situation Kelly at RB and Carra playing CB.
Soto is a stop gap, 4th choice CB should be a young player striving to impress and improve and to break into the team not a 30 odd yr old.
In my opinion of courseThe King was back for a short while. Long live The King.

Hang on, if I remember correctly, Kyrgiakos's tackle on Fellaini was less dangerous than Fellaini's on him. If he hadn't been injured in the process or had the referee been less inept then the well-known captainfog impressionist would have received a red too and possibly even instead..
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

Too true. Fellaini had both studs raised into Soto. Soto if I remember didn't even connect with his studs half as bad as Fellaini, who got injured as he landed?

Kyrgiakos's went to 'do' Fellaini, Fellaini saw it coming and went to 'do' Kyrgiakos too, with Kyrgiakos doing it on the ground and Fellaini leaving the ground. If memory servves me right.Originally posted by Neil Young View PostHang on, if I remember correctly, Kyrgiakos's tackle on Fellaini was less dangerous than Fellaini's on him. Not how i remember it...i remember afroman lunging in, 2 footed, and Soto jumping out of the way of the challenge, but deciding that the tacklers leg looked like a prime place to land.Originally posted by Muddled View PostKyrgiakos's went to 'do' Fellaini, Fellaini saw it coming and went to 'do' Kyrgiakos too, with Kyrgiakos doing it on the ground and Fellaini leaving the ground. Close but no cigar. Soto was the one sliding in and Screech did the jumping. Soto never made contact, but Fellati stomped his ankle and ****ed up his own at the same time. Cards should have been the other way round.

A 30-odd year old with more than 60 international caps is a better bet than the likes of Ayala (still don't think he'll be good enough) or Wilson - at the moment - even my Rangers' mates said he was merely a good prospect who did well in the piss poor Scottish league and didn't think he was ready for the English top flight, although he may well be in a couple of seasons. At the moment we don't have the luxury of being able to nurse young CBs along, so a vastly-experienced proven international who's already impressed in the Premier League is easily the best bet for usOriginally posted by The Birdman View PostHis 2 footed challenge on Fellani was worth £1.5 mill alone!

Did there not used to be a sticky for loan updates? I’ve been curious about a few myself but too lazy to research.Originally posted by Pablo1981 View PostAny update on how Ayala has been getting on lately? If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Hull are doing quite badly and are currently sitting in 19th place 5 points from the relegation zone. I had a flick through the line ups and it looks like he has been starting for them. After having a good start I can only assume that as the team has been peforming poorly he has too. But that is pure assumption.Originally posted by RedReet View PostDid there not used to be a sticky for loan updates? I’ve been curious about a few myself but too lazy to research.96 Never Forgotten

However, I think you're right to make that assumption.
