That money is no guarantee for improvement, having Agger is a guarantee of having a top defender in the squad. Look what happened when we sold Alonso, we took that money and flushed it down the toilet.

No club with any ambition will sell their best defender in his prime when he doesn't even want to leave.

If we've been lowballing his agent in contract negotiations, we only have ourselves to blame. To keep and sign top players, you need to pay market value.
maybe buy that greek kid. looks good.

this "my player might want to leave" tactic from agents is nothing new. they just try and turn the screw a little to rack up the pressure. we need management to tell players to get their agents to talk in house [some hope, i know] and keep things professional.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

Pretty much the same as i feel mate. For the past 3 or 4 seasons we have sold our best players and bar Suarez have replaced them with ****e. By the looks of it this summer will be the same. Possibly Agger, Skrtel and Bellamy out the door. IF this is FSG's policy they can go the way of hicks and Gillett

Ok who do we replace him that is of the same quality if not better? If we sell him for the £20m we will no doubt pay over the odds for a **** player nowhere near as good.

How come, because we've told Man City Agger is not for sale? Have people actually read the stuff out there about this?! Feels like I've missed something saying a deal was agreed and he's on his way there for a medical.

Why do City keep bidding if they think they have no chance?

His agent is giving them the right signals is my bet. No respectable club would bid for a player if they think they can't have him or he wouldn't want to come.

He has two years left on his contract, if we don't sign him to a new contract, we'll sell. City know it and his agent knows it too.

Im just going by our previous summers mate and the fact that we have consistantly sold our best players and replaced them with ****e. I will be very surprised if Agger or Skrtel are still at the club come the end of the window. Every summer since we sold Alonso i have kept faith that we would bring in the players needed to replace the players sold but we have failed time and time again (apart from Suarez) so why should this summer be any different?

                  I hope im wrong.

Thats just from SSN. The same SSN last night that said Man City had a passing interest in Agger but have now moved on to other targets, they were still saying that this morning while their website said another City bid is coming. They are ****.

And Carroll has supposedly told West Ham to piss off so not sure a bid has to mean theyve had loads of encouragement even if it is true.

they are entitled to. we might say 13m... not for sale. 15m... not for sale. 20m... not for sale.

maybe once city hit the right level...

we dont want to sell our better players, but eventually you need to consider if we can replace with like for like, or near enough, and still have enough left to strengthen elsewhere.

There is no right level. Agger is indispensable. Just like Torres, Alonso and Mascherano were. Any club with ambition will not sell their top defender.

There is no like for like, because there isn't a defender out there on the market who's as good as Agger is, provide the leadership he does or can replace the rapport he already has with his team mates. Selling one of your best players is never a good idea if you want to progress and get better.

I love Agger and if he stayed fit he would be indispensable.

But with his injury record I'd take £25m for him.

Kompany & Agger would be a great pairing for them.

                                Agger has to stay!
