New title... "Joe Cole's only fan"? Or is that too harsh? (on Bob or on Joe, the interpretation is yours)
I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
                Mine angry and defrauded young?

If Cole turns in more half decent performances then Bob will look like a prophetic genius in exactly the opposite way to how his Hodgson support made him appear.

there's me hoping you'd have forgotten.

Re Cole, I think he's been very harshly slated on here considering in August he should have been given a clean slate under a new manager and coming back from France. I saw enough in the game in Russia re his movement off the ball to see that he's lacking match fitness which will only come with a run of games. Judging a player on a cameo here and the odd game there is impossibly hard. Do I think he'll be effective in the premier league again? Undecided, possibly the game will be too quick for him now. I think he could get a few good seasons in a decent league abroad. But he's obviously working hard in training, attitude is great and wants to prove himself here. He's a genuine lad. I think fans should give players like this a break. If he can get enough game time to get his match fitness up, I think he'll be a useful player, no world beater but has game nous and can be creative. I'd alternate him with Suso.

Does anyone think he'll even get on the bench with Suarez out. I'd like to see him given a chance - he's looked good in the reserves and, unlike previously, he showed a real work ethic when tried in the first team this season.

I think he deserves another chance. Just needs a bit of good fortune when he plays and I think he can surprise a few.

Yeah I agree 100%. He deserves another crack at it even if it is off the bench for 30 mins or so.

I'd like to see him given another chance, but I really doubt it will happen so it's a "mute point" for me.

If we are going to go with a 'false nine' and play Shelvey there, I'd much rather place Ngoo - or even Sinclair - on the bench at the expense of Pacheco.

Pacheco has failed to raise his game when given a first-team chance previously and it looks like four managers haven't rated him. I'd expect a big 'meh' performance if he went on and I'd much rather the youff gain some experience. I mean, he must be knocking on a bit now? (in footballing terms, obv).

He's the Spanish Richie Partridge. Kinda.
