So basically they are saying we will be competitive when we are rid of the players who are being over paid.
I think they looking at value all over the business, from individial playing contracts, to potential players, to the stadium, to commercial tie ups.
This has started already, and has nothing to with whether some players are paid too much or not. If some or not living up to their value, I'm sure they will be moved on.
I think they are identified where to make the biggest impacts first, and none of us knows how that will be manifested.
Good stuff from John from Formby. Jeremy from Bristol too, great job in lying about what his question was going to be, and then changing it when he got on air
Biggest hats off go to Martin from Stoneycroft though. He hit every nail firmly on the head and backed it up with numerical fact.
The only disappointment was that nobody mentioned 2008-2009, when Rafa managed to match Hodgson's whole career record of away wins, in just one season. Werner daftly pointed to Jan-May 2010, and said about us winning only one away game during that period, as though it means Hodgson's record isnt any worse.
Overall though, i think they've firmly got the message. Let's hope they do actually listen, like they keep saying they're here to do.
it was moving on from dannys point. i found it interesting that they thought we had overpaid players and that resources needed to be better alocated.
i didnt read it to mean the same thing as danny but i found it interesting and just wondered who they meant was overpaid.
Same thinking myself. Of course though they'd never say. Without seeing the wages everyone is on it would be hard to say.
That's always half the problem when trying to sell players. There are usually clubs out there who would take everyone of our players. And the players at our club would probably be happy to leave if it was made clear they were not needed.
However, very few are happy to take pay cuts. So either they don't leave or we have to give them massive pay offs. This normally impacts massively on the transfer budget, so any fees we recieve we end up with far less.
Thats made me feel a bit better, if they didnt know how supporters feel about him then they will now. And lets be honest, they barely backed him at all there, he got as close to a public bollocking as you'll get from mild mannered guys.
