Why does it not count if someone comes in on a free? There is still a hefty signing on fee, wages and a squad place wasted on the turd.

It doesn't count as this thread was about the players where clubs spent excessive sums of money on transfer fees irrespective of wages.

That said, it still doesn't change the thing that he was awful and wasteful signing.

Warhurst was always a centre-back and was only pressed into action as a striker when Wednesday had Hirst and Bright both out injured. He happened to play like Marco van Basten for a bit, before gradually moving back down the field.
However, in their book “Pay as you play” Paul Tomkins, Graeme Riley and Gary Fulcher have used inflation to create the Current Transfer Purchase Price (CTPP), where all transfers in Premier League history can be viewed by today’s prices.

So at least one that is quite popular on here, at least popular by some...

          Cisse, Cheyrou, Babb, Speedie
Those that hid Anne Frank were breaking the law.
Those that killed her, were following the law.

Balaban was def a blunder of the highest order, although still a bit behind the west ham guy

whatever happened to that portugese signing the scum made this summer?

Some kid from the 3rd best portugese league that used to play the homeless WC?, has he ever played for them? They paid quite the dough for him as well.

Aquilani is nowhere near the worst buy £20m was the maximum price, we might sell him for £11m in the summer.

El ****ing Haj Diouf all day long, £11m was it back in 2002?? So I'm guestimating at £15-16m in today's money.
His spit hit the target more than his shots.

He is also a massive cunt
The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.

That's right, hadn't seen him play and paid £7m for him 6 weeks after he was available for absolutely nothing.
But clearly there was nothing dodgy about it, the fact that Bebe and Carlos Queriez share the same agent is just a coincidence...........

                        they paid £7.4m for him

and it even says he was only considered for the homeless squad, but ultimately never played

I had him in my fantasy football team. A goal scoring defender
Well, here we are in a room with two manky hookers and a racist dwarf. I think I'm heading home.

                              paul stewart.

cost £2.2m in 1992 and by rights that would be somewhere in the region of £16.5m now.

by far and away the biggest waste of money we've ever spent.
