Andy Carroll it has to be. Nothing more than a donkey whose entire career has been based upon one decent half season in the PL.

**** for us, **** for every club he has been at since us and still somehow gets spoken off as some sort of clinical striker in the media.

Plus he cost 35m in an era when 35m was huge money in footy terms.

As for Konchesky. Mad that he is still only 42 years of age. Feels like he should be much older. Not going to slag him off though as I do not want his angry mom on my case.

Carroll is arguably our worst value for money signing although we got half the fee back plus some loan fees. At the time he was linked to a lot of clubs and nobody knew he had such a bad attitude and would be a one season wonder. Naby might be worse from a value perspective as he left for a free and he cost almost 55m

I've never got over Speedie. I was quite resilient after that.

My hopes got raised slightly by Souness binning him but that was cancelled out by signing Julian Dicks. I refuse to let my heartbeat go over 80 now when considering transfers.

Speedie was a mad one. Pre ‘window’ he was literally announced on the day of a game, was on TV if I recall back when there were not many televised. Against… Man U?

But yeah, not an exciting transfer. He only played a few games for us of memory serves?

He scored vs United on debut and 2 vs the Ev the game after if I remember correctly - he’ll always be remembered for that!

Speedie tweeted recently about being disrespected in a "Players we forgot played for Liverrpool" thread, which was fair I thought

One name always springs to mind and its Paul Stewart. Awful player, had a habit of scoring against us. Start of the Premier League era and we get that useless lump. I was there at Forest on the opening day of the league and we got beat 1 nil.

Jimmy Carter is another contender along with Torben Picnic (spelling intentionally wrong).

Didn't it later turn out that Stewart had a load of issues at the time?

For expectation vs reality it has to be Naby.

£58m (or there abouts) to play a handful of games a season

Quite possibly. Doesn't take away from the fact he was **** before we signed him and even worse when he arrived. Issues or not he was bad.

Blimey how long you got; great bump by the way

                        Konch
                        Dicks
                        Tanner
Anyone from Italy (saves me listing them)
                        Carter
Ruddock for being a cunt & splitting dressing room
Stewart was a good buy, but came in to a team that wanted to party & that was the one thing he didn't need ; altough it is probably what attracted to him at the time
                        Speedie for sure

Two more Souness era signings at add

                          Istvan Kozma
                          Mark Walters

Kozma was totally out of his depth. Should never have been signed.

Walters was more disappointing than anything. He was exceptional at Rangers during his time in Scotland but never hit the same heights with us.

But harsh on Mark Walters I feel.

Him and Benteke. Beyond embarrasing that those 2 amongst many others pulled on a Red shirt.

I don't think he was a bad player per se. In fact he scored loads of goals for other sides. He just wasn't considered a Liverpool player. So he couldn't win even if he was good. And it was the start of a period where we got lots more who weren't considered Liverpool players. Dark days those.
