Liability is a strong word - Roy Hodgson was a liability. If he wants to stay on as a sub, why not? He's got such quality that his experience and him being available for 15 games a season, could prove invaluable to us. I think he's been rushed back anyway.

      I'm sticking with liability!

His body is a liability to the team. Sadly.

Two massive games, body breakdowns in both of them. We were compromised in both games. Fair enough, we didn't lose either game, but taking him off was an unnecessary distraction and it could easily have gone the other way.

Did he or did he not have to be taken off?

He's the Fiat of left backs

              Not sure, I can't remember.

I wouldn't go as far as say he's a liability. We'll spend a few thousand quids a year on a quality player, it's hardly gonna break our club is it?

well i would rather make the funds available for someone else.

its a shame when fit he is a cracking player he just cant stay fit. and wouldnt we be better with a young lad as back up?

                  Not much more to say.

His injury streak will only get worse with age.

Why should we get rid? Because he doesn't play for free that's why.

Pathetic decision to re-sign him. I guess we had that little money and few options at LB it was out of desperation.

Not sure about that. I was genuinely happy to have him back at the club. I really thought maybe The Aussie docs could sort him out. If he was always fit I'd start him every game and we'd be a better team for it but we just can't build a consistent solid defence when you don't know when (and it is when, not if) the left back will breakdown injured again.

As I've said, it's getting silly now. This is about the 6th time this season alone that he's been knackered in some way. No good hanging on to a player who's not going to be fit just because he's a good lad and because 10 times a year he's goin to be a decent player for you (unless he'll take pay as you play. Then I'd hang on to him)
A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

Why the eye roll? A player who can only play 9 games a season or so is a drain on resources. Our wage bill is ridiculous when you look at the actual quality available to our managers to put out on the field. He's one of many reasons why.

In his case it's down to lack of availability as opposed to quality.

But we can't play Konk because he's ****e, whilst we can't play Fabio because he's always injured. Either way neither are players available to use. As such both are a waste of money.

It will cost far more to adequetely replace him though. He wont be on much more than £25k p/w, which is only £1.3m a year. Hardly breaking the bank for an established, experienced and proven player. Especially in an area of obvious weakness for us.

Our wage bill is ****ed because of players earning £90k without contributing much, not because of Aurelio.

An obvious weakness of which he is part of the problem.

I'd say he's more of an antidote to the problem, given that he gives us 20 games or so's worth of a good LB, something which we dont otherwise have at all.
