This game and the lack of a settled defence makes this a really bad game to blood a youngster from the start IMO
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I was actually wondering about that, could we call him back?

Desperate times call for desperate measures and all that.

I guess it depends on the terms of his loan. Personally I hope we can't, I don't want to see him in a Liverpool shirt ever again.

We're still paying his wages though.
          .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Personally I don’t think Flanagan or Robinson are good enough yet to make the step up, but if we had good enough players I’d have no problem promoting them at a tender age. Kelly for instance came into a struggling defence and made the RB position his own.

The LFC channel indicated that we can call him back.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I'd rather that Steve Clarke comes out of retirement and play there before Konchesky.

I haven't seen enough of the reserves or youth games to comment TBH

Sometimes throwing the kids in works, sometimes it doesn't, Kelly had at least had first team experience on loan at Huddersfield and had been on the bench and played in lesser games (Carling Cup, early stage european games) before being thrown in for Premiership games, neither of these kids have that experience at the moment, so throwing them in at this stage from the start in a big game is a big risk.

Considering the circumstances I would actually take the risk and play one of them, but ideally as you've mentioned you'd have liked to have seen them prove themselves at senior level before being thrown in at the deep end.

Play Kuyt at RB, and Aurelio at LB, with the two youngsters on the bench if plan A proves a disaster

Glenn Johnson out for at least a month due to his hamstring being strung

So that's Johnson, Agger, Kelly and Gerrard out for the rest of the season(more of less).

We simply can't cope with 4 first team players out at the same time.

The only positive is that is highlights our lack of depth in the squad, and hence drastic action is taken in the summer to address the problem.

To be fair I think that it's due to them all being in similar positions (ie defence). We have lost 3 of our first choice back four, I think most teams would struggle with that, the fact that we were already lacking cover there makes matters worse (we already knew this). If the injuries were spread more evenly through the squad rather than mainly affecting the positions were the squad is wafer thin, we wouldn't have such a problem.

To be honest I don't think this tells us anything we didn't already know.

Rudo at best of times you don't want 3/4 that you've named in the team when they are fit. "lets wait and see attitude" , "always injured", "over the hill" "great show from our 20m man (said sarcastically)"

Now you say we can't cope.

Listen here son, i don't want any Liverpool player injured at any time, nevermind when our squad is so weak and lacking in numbers.

                                The end.
