It's a possibility, but Valencia has way more pace and mobility compared to our Dirk.

Why not take the opportunity to blood one of these young players at full back? Full back probably allows the greatest opportunity to give a young player a game. We cannot be allowed to field a back four of Carragher, Skrtel, Soto & Wilson again; we might as well remove our midfield and just play 5 forwards, to chase the endless hoofs.

I have changed my mind about this and would agree with you now. Not that Iv given up hope but 5th and 4th look like too much of a tall order. Therefore, in thinking that we probably aren't going to be in europe next season it's not a gamble to bring in Jack Robinson and Flanagan. Injuries can often make way for a chance for youth and if these kids take their opportunity like Martin Kelly did then there will be more reasons to be excited here.
