Its sort like therapy, I guess. There is nothing completely new here. Many quotes of which we probably heard as a rumour at the time.

The most crushing thing is remembering how close Sheikh Mohammed came to capturing us the second time, but Hicks (the greedy ******) turned down £250m (thats around £100m profit), and the Arabs had just had enough by the time we were sold to NEV, at a much lower price. I have nothing against NEV (yet), but they clearly dont have the funds to match our ambitions, in the way the Arabs would likely have just gone and built the damn stadium.

As I understand it company valuations are usually quoted as enterprise values and therefore include debt. The pure equity valuations of Liverpool and Man Utd are probably not as far apart as £332m and £1.1bn would suggest, although I would still imagine Utd's equity being worth quite a bit more than ours.

£250 million would not have given them a £100 million profit

They bought the club for £174 million plus £44 million debt

It was DIC that wanted LFC (The Sheikhs sovereign investment vehicle) the same DIC that only a year ago had to delay payment of a £800 million debt

So I think DIC / the Sheikh didnt have the finances to match NESV this time round
