Pleased with £71m if that's what we have agreed on. Good money.

So now he's allowed to start pre-season training, atleast till the appeal ?

So someone just said on radio, contradicting FIFA's earlier stance of 'No football activity'.

£70-80m is fine as long as it's all up front though.

I know where people are coming from but I also think we should've tried hold on for another year & cemented out place in the top 4. Players like that come along very rarely- uniquely some would even say. Not only do they contributed massively with goals & assists, they also scare the **** outta defenders, distracting them & giving others more room to exploit.

Seem to remember being one of the lone voices stressing big time about when we sold Xabi & look how that turned out. Now I don't think it'll be as bad as that but sometimes it's really really hard to adjust when you sell someone vital to your team.

Last 2 times we finished second, the following seasons were disasters. Just wanna avoid that & I think it's much more of a risk without him than with.

I'll settle for the fee, expected less tbh so well done Ayre and co.

Ridiculous that he can now all of a sudden train during his ban from all football activity.

              Why does that matter?

I don't think we could have kept him, last year it was Arsenal, but Barca is different, specially for him. You could say this was his mission since he was a kid, follow Sofia to Barcelona.

Why does it all have to be upfront ?

It won't be all upfront, not a chance.

So we have it to spend? A dollar today is worth more than a dollar tomorrow.

Deals we do with others will likely spread payments, so there's no need to have it all now, we can commit now to spending it according to when we're due to get it. As long as it's a reasonable schedule it shouldn't matter to us. In fact in terms of FFP accounting it might be better.

Not surprised. I said last week I expected the world ban to be suspended on appeal and I think that's what will happen. Letting him train is the first step towards that. Just like the total ban on transfers for Barca, Fifas original tough stance was totally watered down on appeal. Same will happen here. Being banned from Internationals will actually improve his worth to Barca.

I wouldn't be selling until the outcome of the appeal is known and price him accordingly. If they can pay £71m while he's banned for 4 months they can pay more when he isn't.

I would guess the clause was for 90M Euros as it was alwyas going to be one of the big 2 in Spain where he was going to go.

Just a real shame we can't get Sanchez as part of the deal

He has a contract. We are in the CL- he can move to Barca next year.
