Dave are you from Chicago?? I was there last september and went to watch a Europa cup game at some bar in the north side that is supposed to be a reds bar, the globe pub have you heard of it??
I think it's a foul, and if the ref gives it. He got to give a penalty. I know it's outside the box, but you see them given that close to the area. So if the ref gives it he's got to give the penalty as it so close to the area. But I think it's a penalty. Robbie Savage 8/11/06

Are you watching Manchester United? Are you watching Chelsea? This is Liverpool F.C taking over the bloody world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Most probably didn't want Hodgson but as the appointment was made I think it's a moot point as to when was the right time was to get rid of him. Especially so as the owners lacked experience of football and many respected "experts" (each at least as knowledgeable but probably a lot more knowledgeable than posters on here) we advising caution about getting rid.

Not read the rest of the thread yet but the whole Roy debacle directly cost us around £20m in the end, not including potential competition revenue. There's no way a well run business would just write off that sort of money without being absolutely, cast iron certain that it's the correct decision.

They've always said to us it will take 2 or 3 seasons to get where we want to be and in my view it's pretty obvious we're on track.

To summarise, I don't think any blame can be attached to the owners for not sacking Hodgson earlier. It's easy to say what the decision should be when you don't have to make it.

And if we're honest about this that applies as much to wanting rid of Bronto Bodge as to anything else.

I didn't vote for anyone because polls are pointless.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

I've been watching loads of american news since UBL killing, went to see how america was reacting, and been watching ever since, well, for the last week anyway.

CNN, CBS, ABC, FOX, NBC, the whole 9 yards, up front and centre i've been on the news.

One thing i've noticed, is, everyones an author..

            Interesting though.

I love your city, it's like an upscale New York. I went to
The game where cole scored in the first few minutes and Lucas scored a wonder goal. Not to many people were there, I was in the back of the pub sitting at the bar, next to some dude wearing a Liverpool cap, I
Didn't talk to anyone really just the barman and the barwoman who I thought was quite fit, blonde hair and yellow T shirt.

I saw some pics on the Chicago reds website and it looked pretty good looking at the pics. I remember now man united were on the Sunday and some people were debating about getting up at some ungodly hour to watch it. Think it might have been 6:30!!!

They have only spent a few million not 50. Pre season will say a lot until then there wil be no blowing up yanks arses yet.

people are not blowing smoke up there arses

also a measure of good owners isnt the amount of money spent. Its how they run the club and from that can flow money for transfers.

a few things they have done

cleared debt (apart from stadium related)
brought a sense of calm to the boardroom
                        appointed people to key positions
                        improved the squad
                        sacked bodge

now that may mean nothing to some people but its a good foundation for the long term.

Reserving judgement til at least the end of the summer- and after the stadium decision/ realisation.

That having been said, impressions are favourable thus far.
                          3rd place. Worst champions ever.
