It's very difficult to properly form an opinion on him as he never really had a chance to showcase his skills except at the end of 2009/10 season and to me he looked very decent if not good when he played in succession.

All that doesn't really matter if he doesn't want to be here but we should do what is best for the club and imo only right decision is to sell him not loan him.

If that cannot be accomplished, well he'll stay as many others that we may be forced to keep on our books with the difference that he can bring something to the squad.
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

There are real question marks whether he can cut it here physically

Also towards the second half of last season we played some great football and Aquilani wasnt part of that side - a side to which we have brought 3 players in who were in the top 15 for creating goalscoring chances

As for keeping a player who doesnt want to be here, well personally I think once a player is determined to leave you get rid. Keeping an unhappy player usually ends in the players form dropping and his value decreasing further

Lets just see what pans out, whether it is a loan or a permanent

I'd imagine Charlie Adam has been bought to fill the Aqualani/Alonso role in the squad. I'll also be surprised if he doesn't leave us, he seems to have his heart set on a return to Serie A. I've not really watched that much of our pre-season but I'd imagine Aqualani playing well should help us recoup some cash for him.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I think that it's just frustrating to never have given a chance to a good player who we spent so much money on (rightly or wrongly) and take such a loss. Of course there are question marks over whether he can cut it here because he'd never really been given a chance. IMO he did well at the end of the season he was here despite not being fit, he did well on loan last season, and is a creative player who offers something different.

Obviously if he is unhappy we have to let him go and all this is irrelavent.

If we can't find a buyer and Kenny doesn't have him in his plans, we should loan him out. It's the right thing to do.

I've seen nothing from Aquilani whilst he was here during those 20 games he was here to suggest we should give him a go, last year he looked good but it was Italy not the Premier League and hes looked good in 2 out of 3 preseason games when he was given time and acres of space

I personally think our game is evolving in a different direction to Aquilani

I've seen nothing of Adam to say he's gonna cut it here. Maybe lose 1 stone.

I think he's in the wait and see category, but I'll not dispute that £7m seemed a reasonably good price compared to what some players have gone for in recent seasons.
A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

He was the league top assist maker during the time he got a fair chance. I think being the top assist maker show that he is good enough. He wasn't second or third he was the top assist maker. To be that without being match fit is simply excellent.
