If i was a United fan, my concern would be the fact that they've faced nobody of note, and while the garden is rosey sitting top of your group, they could have something of a rude awakening when you face some actual quality opposition.

I question their defence, and also their goal-getting ability up front, when up against a decent defence.

But some may say the same about us.

It wasnt remotely the 'weakest'. United's is piss poor, as is Milan's.

I dont think they look a spent force in the CL whatsoever, nor do i think they've struggled.

But WHEN they face someone good, they could well do, as their 'threshold' for quality is set low, according to the opposition in their group.

Until the last match I thought Bayern have looked really good. I think it will come down to squad depth to some degree which is why I think Chelsea are favourites as Barca have looked a lot less dangerous without Etoo and most of the other big teams also rely on one or two key players a great deal.

Other than that I think it is pretty hard to rank the teams as there is such a long period of time until the knockout stages - teams will have dips/rises in form - possibly even important signings before then. One of the original 10 Mersey86 posted would be as far as i would go in terms of guessing who would win it.

Of course he can, but by the notion of a discussion forum, i'm merely inputting my view on something that was posted.

Knowing dave like i do, i can assure he doesnt 'hate' LFC.

He CAN be a bit pessimistic, but what i'd also add is that his interweb persona isnt necessarily matched in real life, from what i've seen.

Having said that, i fully acknowledge that for most, the web persona is all they CAN go on. Trust me though, he's definitely a Red.
