I guess we'll have to stick to the deadly quartet of Cameron, Taylor, Roberts and Carlisle instead.
On Sunday I emailed the Culture Secretary saying just that. The more that say it respectfully and intelligently the better.

Did you know Bari could have made it as a footballer! He won player of the year in the first season he played for his hometown club but jacked it in as he wanted to become lazy and fat. He succeeded - he is lazy and fat

This is true when looked at from a certain angle. In the days gone Asian footballers were supposed to play ultra-fit, ultra-strong hoofball in England. No chance Asians were going to have any upper-hand (due to diet, build, etc)as we were all too busy carressing the ball and making neat little triangles.

And managers with 32 years experience like Hodgson would you tell you so.

But we are in a new era. Barcelona and now Swansea/Norwich are showing the way. Young managers with no old school hang-ups are picking players primarily on their ball skills. And guess what, Asians are very good at this, always have been. And those Asians that are now dads (alas I don't have a son ) are passing the only footballing knowledge they had to their sons, i.e. pass and move.

The FA f*cked up grass roots football and having been f*cking it up for years. But they may be in a jammy position that they have ready made 'Spanish' players right under their noses playing in Southall, Birmingham, East London, etc.

The one brave premiership manager that takes the step to employ 3 or 4 gifted British Asians will be hailed a genius. Even though its not really rocket surgery.

According to a witness, Evra tried to assault Suárez at half-time

                    - "It was good he was stopped by several people, otherwise he would have eaten him", a source said.

                    - 'Lucho' was going to shake his hand, but he noticed the Frenchman withdrew his arm when he saw him

Polemic between Luis Suárez and Patrice Evra - the Uruguayan didn't shake hands with him during the initial ceremony at the United-Liverpool match - has a new ramification. Sources in the inner circle of the player were surprised by Lucho not shaking hands, since he had committed with his relatives to do it with the Frenchman "in order to avoid more criticism".

Then, what happened in the end? Why didn't the handshaking take place? Suarez was very upset with the Frenchman. He believes that he coldly broke a player's code - what happens in the pitch, stays there - by accusing the charrua of being racist, and without any actual proof supporting it. But, Suárez was going to shake hands with him anyway.

Evra was offering his hand to the red players. When Suárez was coming before him, he put his hand down and barely offered it, to which Luis, in a mistake he himself recognized afterwards, denied him his own hand. "I swear for my daughter - the most sacred person to Luis - that I was going to shake my hand with him", Suárez confessed to his intimates.

                    What happened in the tunnel?

Ever since the first incident between the two players in October, British press is demonizing Suárez, accusing him of racism all over. There is a detail that MARCA reveals today that might change the general aspect of the story.

According to a witness questioned by this periodical, as the first half ended, and in the tunnel, Evra ran towards Suárez and tried to assault him from the back. "It was a good thing that Skertl, Agger and Kuyt stopped him; otherwise he would have eaten Suárez", the aforementioned source told MARCA.com. A detail the press has failed to report in England, a place where Evra is treated as if he were a saint, despite of the fact that at the end of the match, and having already won it, tried to provoke the Uruguayan jumping into his face. Suárez did not react to the provocation. But, as MARCA.com reveals today, Evra is no saint.

Its good for dramatic effect Shaggy. Someone needs to start painting him as a reputation gobbling monster. Hopefully someone in the UK press will pick this up. :holdsbreath:

Would explain why Agger wanted to meet Rio outside afterwards.

It's an interesting code of ethics Sir Alex Ferguson lives by when it comes to footballers.

Kung-fu kick a fan? That's fine. Sleep with your brother's wife? No problem. Bed an OAP prostitute? Splendid. Admit to deliberately trying to break an opponent's leg? Boys will be boys. Refuse to shake hands with an opponent? Ban for life.

Everyone will have a view on Luis Suarez's conduct on Saturday but far more unpalatable was the fact that Fergie was allowed to poke his purple nose into another club's business without censure.

Bookies Boylesports are betting on whether the outdated Premier League pre-match handshake tradition will be scrapped by next season and at 12-1 I'd say that's a very good bet.

More interesting, though, is the betting, next time the two North West giants meet, on whether Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish will shake hands with his Scottish nemesis.

Dalglish will be fuming that he's been forced into a humiliating climbdown by a PR drive at Anfield while Fergie has been allowed to escape scot-free for his incendiary comments.

Fergie should tread warily on the race row. Last time he got involved in a race row, Rock Of Gibraltar cost him a fortune.

BetVictor offer 16-1 for the two Scots not to shake when United next face Liverpool. Not a good bet -Dalglish will shake with rage.

Suarez's dignified response to scoring and his equally dignified response to Patrice Evra's dangerously provocative gloating should have spared him the vitriol heaped on him because of a) his decision not to shake the Frenchman's hand, and b) his decision to be Uruguayan.

Wayne Bridge was a hero when he snubbed John Terry's handshake; Samir Nasri drew no criticism for a similar snub to William Gallas. But Suarez has been deemed the villain in a media pantomime so even if he'd sponsored a Mother Teresa fun run around the Old Trafford pitch on Saturday you suspect he'd have been castigated for cruelty to pensioners. Wayne Rooney would merely have asked for her number

I have a solicitor friend informs me that, petty as it seems, Luis has a practically watertight case for assault against Evra for grabbing his arm at the handshake.

It would be funny if he did press charges but I very much doubt that it would help the situation.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
