I thought we did well first half, we dominated the game, but we needed to score when we were on top. Second half we were very poor, we could have won it with the late spell, but their keeper made some great saves.

I thought that Carroll won alot in the air but there was no one getting on the end of his knock downs, I thought Downing had a better game than he's had, he put some good crosses in. I thought Adam was poor and Henderson was anonymous.

Again we created some chances but don't have someone who is clinical in front of goal.

The fact that we have now only won 2 home games out of 6 is very worrying.

But I do think he's a good squaddie. Catastrophic that he's starting every game though

        Very gifted?

Defensively awful, very slow, needs time to see the situation develop before he can pass and when hurried and under the pressure he is completely lost.

Also his set pieces, which should be his bread and butter, especially corners were dreadful.

Yep, I'd get Spearing in for both otherwise think we'll get dominated in the middle.

Do you really believe that Kenny will bench Downing and play Maxi instead?

Not a ****ing chance. Then you must ask yourself why and you get a part of the answer to why I want Kenny out.

He clearly got his favourite players and picks them because who they are and not if they are the best option.

I think someone if he's ready like sterling on the bench might just spark us. a youngster without fear of failure. a player that can just go and play. obviously it depends if the management feel he's ready yet. with a speedster like him, his best and most effective years will be 17-25. he'll suffer hamstrings like most of those types do. So burn out isn't something I'd worry too much about. sterling running and dribbling at tired legs for 15 minutes would worry the **** out of defenders. I'd also consider morgan too.

                That was ****ing diabolical!

Talk about typical Liverpool. Suarez and Enrique had their first bad game today IMO, it's bound to happen. When i saw Hendo on the right and Downing on the left i feared the worst. Been saying it and saying it, they are not starters two absolute passengers.

There's been a lot of "Kenny see the players every day in training", clearly then Hendo and Downing must be absolutey Messi-like in training because they have been pretty useless in matches. I just cannot fathom why Maxi has been frozenout? How many awful displays is it going to take from Downing on teh left and Henderson on the right before they get dropped?

Horribly frustrating but for sure typical LFC. There is nothing knee jerk about it, we have been throwing away points like this for years. Serious reality check today IMO

Obviously not, but they make up a very bad partnership.

And lack of fitness is a load of ****, Adam consistently covers more ground than anyone else in the team.

Adam's ok if you want long balls played out to the wings or a (usually) great dead ball player . But he is physically and mentally too slow - especially in his decision making. I do wonder how we would have played under Dalglish last season if we had actually signed Adam in January. Would it have been as incisive and exciting as it was? All we really need is some pace in midfield to provide a platform for intelligent attacking players. We have this in our squad - but it's not being used. Lucas and Spearing would provide that and we could have Suarez, Maxi and Bellamy offering intelligence and pace in attack with Kuyt or Carroll as a physical presence.

It seems that Downing will play in the league no matter what performances he turns in. No wonder Maxi is allegedly so pissed off. If I was him I'd be getting the passport out of the draw and logging on to the Ryan Air website.

watch the full match again and you'll see adam letting players run past him without a challenge. when we lose the ball he literally jogs back into position 'just in time' to pick up the ball again once we've recovered it.

there was this threat about how meireles ran around a lot but didnt actually do anything and charlie adam has a similar illusion to his game. He combined really well with downing a couple of times but other than that he was very poor again.

its just my opinion but Bob, but teams will relish playing us whilst we have lucas and adam centrally. If I was a player lining up against lucas and adam i would fancy it big time. knowing full well all you had to do was wait for liverpool to lose the ball and then you were straight through the middle at them.

Ironically, both johnson and enrique are pretty quick and provide plenty of strength so teams wont get a lot of joy against us down the flanks but when the attack down the middle, the full backs have to push in and it creates space down the flanks for their attackers.

Kenny wants to play 442 but it doesnt suit us and we will continue to look **** until he changes his system or leaves.

Do you really think Adam is a player that's going to take us to the level we want to be? Serious question.
For me Adam isn't good enough. He is very poor defensively his tackling is poor he either concedes silly freekicks and fouls or is on a booking and has to tread carefully. Also I don't think he does enough work tracking back - probably due to a lack of fitness.

With the ball I don't think he does enough in open play. The only good thing he offers is his set piece delivery, but for me that isn't enough for him to deserve a place in the team.

saying that, there is something wrong with the balance of the team. I thought Carroll linked play well, yet we didn't have enough men supporting at times. downing has laid on some peaches in his lfc career but he goes hiding a little when we need him to stand up. Lucas is our best defensive midfielder but he doesn't impose himself enough, we lack a real ball winner. McMahon in this team would excell. Adam is always offering himself for the ball, I'd play Spearing in a 3 next game. It'd help Lucas & Adam.

the positive is we didn't get beat, negative must do much better.
