@ChrisLawley77 @strtbrdsn @dinabass Suarez's best position imo is wide right in 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3. That's where he played when he scored 49.
    Is it?

**** 2nd half definitely, but I gave Enrique MOM based entirely on his 1st half display, which was excellent, as there was so little else to choose from.

BTW it was good to see the Blackburn fans chanting 'Kenny give us a wave' and Kenny duly obliging. They also sang Bellamy's name as he warmed up.

By the way, why the hell didn't Bellamy get more than 10 minutes?!

I thought he put at least 4 good crosses in second half, most of which went unmentioned, but as soon as he hit a poor one people were posting 'Downing is ****', or 'Downing can't cross' type comments.
For someone clearly lacking in confidence he didn't hide once, was playing in front of me 2nd half and he always wanted the ball, always tried to commit his full back and went both sides putting good crosses in.
I'll agree Downing needs to improve, of course he does but you're right he's become the current easy target.

And for those posting that Suarez was getting exasperated with Downing it was exactly the same the other way every time Suarez tried to beat someone for the 9th time or tried the difficult option instead of playing it simple and going again.

Skrtel for me, he even got an assist (Downing take note)

I'm sure I read Kenny didn't know who to take off as they were all doing ok.

              Edit, here's the quote:

"The difficulty for us was deciding who to take off. It wasn't as if we were playing poorly. Usually if you're struggling a bit you can see you've got two or three options, but there wasn't really anyone that stood out that deserved to be taken off.

                Abysmal?

He still offered plenty in the second half, he had that marauding run towards the Kop, a couple of crosses, one of which Carroll was inches away from scoring and continued to support our attack, as well as remain solid(ish) at the back until fatigue kicked in late in the second half. All after a boss first half.

Enrique definitely tired right at the end, but he seemed the last player to do so. 2nd half he was on my side and the number of lung-bursting runs he makes back and forth is truly a sight to behold. Just his use of the ball/decision making went to pot 2nd half. That shot into the Kop

Enrique generally takes 2 or 3 touches too many, slows attacks, comes inside and seems to love his little outside hook turn to show everyone he can shield the ball.
Dont get me wrong he's the best left back we've had for years and years but he has absolutely no variety or subtlety to his game and is part of the reason Downing isn't doing as well when he plays on the left
Enrique is forever taking up the space in front of him, never gets it out of his feet and passes first or second touch and then supporting he is always running into where the ball should have been passed to 5 seconds earlier

                      2 words - utter ****e!
If Kenny & their sizeable wages can't motivate them then nothing will! **** sakes if Downing's worth 20 million then Gerrard's turds are worth about 50 milliion each ffs!!
Thanks for the memories Rafa - YNWA!

We've played some football that's easy on the eyer and that side is nowhere near as bad as its made out. There is plenty of quality there and for some reason its just not got the final move to win the game. Maybe the return of Gerrard will help. It's easy to turn to our Captain, he is an excellent footballer and can make the quality level increase fast. When he played his last few games this season before the infection you could seen the team was ticking better with him in the side. Maybe he can be the difference. The man to provide that killer ball.. although I think we need another striker

It must be frustrating as **** playing alongside Suarez though

He does amazing stuff then "over guilds the lily"

At times you have to play the percentages and for me that is one of his failings (as is his finishing)

For me its solely down to the finishing

Yes we could always use better players in midfield etc.. but we probably wouldnt even be discussing our current problems if we had someone who could score goals

The problem is barring BIG money moves for players that might not be available or willing to come I cant think of anyone who bangs the goals in who might be available/we could attract

think we might have to take a flier on a couple of prospects myself

That's the bottom line for me too. Yeah sure we could have better players but you always can, but this team would comfortably be top 3 if we even got a quarter of the extra points our performances deserved.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
