I absolutely LOVED Gerrard's goal last night. It's those goals that we've struggled to score all season - that goal that just gives us that bit of protection. Gerrard could easily play as a striker. His finishing is as good as anyone in the world in my opinion. He is just so ****ing composed.I thought the chance had got away from him and then he goes and puts it through the keepers legs with his left. What a ****ing player. Total legend. Let's hope he can put his injury problems behind him now.

Have to say we've rightly been complaining about our luck recently but the fixture list this New Year (in terms of resting period between games ) is certainly in our favour.

We need to win. If we draw then we lose and Man City lose, only manure win.

This game doesn't change much for our season. We've still got the likes of Swansea, Stoke, Fulham, Norwich, Blackburn to play.

Going into the new year we're about where I hoped we'd realistically be with a large number of new players to bed in. Second half of the season looks a little kinder to us as well so really in for a good shout to make the top 4
