It's the way it is im afraid - what do you expect given the context of the thread? It was a relevant post in this thread I stand by it. I love Kenny. But I can't stand to see us turn into Spurs. Pretty much all of my post was about KD, and I've edited my OP to suit.Last edited by Buzzo; 25-03-12, 10:46 AM.Modifying post.

I think regardless of any cup success, these remaining fixtures will decide Kenny's future..
They don't come much easier than this, for an end of season run in..
Newcastle
Aston Villa Home
Blackburn
Fulham Home
West Brom Home
Norwich
Chelsea Home
Swansea
EFC/SAFC cup.

Okay I don't usually post things like this, but I need to get it off my chest, and I apologise in advance if it makes me a 16 year old sky generation supporter, or vile scum
It's a horrible feeling to have, but I feel that it's just not going to work out with Kenny at the helm this time round.
I'd not in any way advocate "sacking" him, and there is no point changing things right now, especially as he deserves the chance to get us another cup. But come the summer, I think it would be best if he was to stand down and hand over the reigns. If I was seeing progress in the league, or at least evidence that things would improve in the league then I might feel differently, but I haven't so I don't. That's not to say it couldn't and wouldn't if he remained into next season, but no one really knows. I'd worry about another summer of transfers like we saw last summer to be honest.
Who he would hand over to is the biggest issue. I'd have Rafa back in a heartbeat, but with the likes of Ayre still at the club, it's difficult to see that happening. I don't know much about him myself, but Klopp is apparently doing really well in Germany, and I read somewhere that Rafa was bigging him up recently.
Bielsa would be a maverick appointment, but for all the recent hype about how his team(s) play, he hasn't really achieved anything yet. Admittedly he's not been in charge of a team that is realistically going to challenge for the top honours. He could win the Spanish cup mind if Bilbao manage to beat Barca in the final.
Guardiola would be great but there is no chance of that happening. "Pep - you should leave Messi, Iniesta et al to it, and come work your magic on Stewart Downing". Yeah right.
So there you go. **** knows what we're going to do
The cup win (and progress in the FA Cup) aside, I'm not enjoying football at the moment, and that's not how it's supposed to be with one of my heroes as manager.

I'd kick Ayre and Comolli out way before I'd decide to say to Kenny, 'thanks for your efforts, but we'd like another manager in'.
I feel with the whole Suarez incident and the fees paid for players as well as their mental fragility, there needs to be an entire review of management, including Kenny.
However, if Kenny goes and Comolli/Ayre are still there, I'll be pissed off.
I get the feeling the FA Cup is going to be make or break with FSG. If the fanbase is starting to question Kenny already, can you imagine what a consortium of 20 investors are thinking?

Good post. I can't help but feel the same. I don't feel good about feeling this way either, but there you have it.
I think Kenny killed himself in the transfer Market last summer and I too would worry (based on this) if he were backed again. Definitely give him the rest of the season and see if he can convince otherwise, but if the feeling persists I think Kenny needs to move back 'upstairs'.
If it's not to be 'he who shal not be named' taking over I really don't know. It does need a strong personality to get us to where we want to be.Modifying post.

so a guy that is capable of getting his team to win two trophies in a season wouldn't be a relevant reason to give him at leat another season to get the league form sorted?Originally posted by Kenneth View PostI just can't decide. Winning two cups and then ditching the manager from the outside appears very Chelsea-esque.Originally posted by Kenneth View PostI just can't decide. I don't think what happens in the Fa cup is very relevant though.
Winning the Carling Cup and finishing absolutely ****e leads to more and more questions about our progression.
It's all about perceptions and we're seeing across all the forums the optimists vs the pessimists with guilt traps laid out everywhere.

it's not very relevant to my decision making, no. From where we are, winning two or three cup games doesn't change very much. The cup performances and results to date would have already informed the other options.Originally posted by BobTheCharmer View Postso a guy that is capable of getting his team to win two trophies in a season wouldn't be a relevant reason to give him at leat another season to get the league form sorted?Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 years

Its a ****ing scatter gun approach, and if his main objective is to bring players in, should anything happen in relation to a Kenny departure, then he should go too.
He's the Director of Football here and responsible for the long term vision.
If Kenny's getting flack, then Comolli is accountable too.
