My view on Rafa? Should never have been sacked and that's part of reason for this mess. Would I love him back? Yes. Will it happen? No

there is a danger in thinking we should appoint a manager based too heavily on the state of the squad now versus appointing someone based on the desired state of the squad in the long term. i hope we don't go for a reactionary manager decision that just addresses our short term concerns, although i do hope we hire someone who knows how to get the players attacking and hitting the target.

If I was a cynic I'd expect Harry Redknapp to follow up being linked with the Liverpool job by ruling himself out of the race..............

For those who care: Harry Redknapp will not be the next manager of Liverpool. Don't worry about that one

And Capello's not likely to pitch up either. Be very, very surprised

For what my opinion's worth (not much), I think Martinez. AVB comes with negative reputation and would need stellar interview

I think he might have been one of the few journalists that warned "careful what you wish for"

                  Although I cant be certain

I said the same earlier, I reckon our eventual manager will be someone of that Ilk and an outsider at the moment.

Maybe its more through hope than likelyhood as I am not rating anyone who is interested yet

                        I really don't want Martinez.

I will support him no doubt, but his appointment IMO would be moving backwards from Kenny.

The new man will have to work with the other new man (DOF, technical guy, or whatever the **** nomenclature we use) and new structure to shape the squad in the long term.

A man who's won a European Trophy and took a team the whole league season unbeaten needs a stellar interview but the Wigan manager is cool. Slightly bizarre but then it's Tony Evans so pinch of salt I suppose.

So playing awful football for the season apart from the last 9 games and just avoiding relegation gets you the chance to become the liverpool manager? We truly are a midtable club now. What took great man decades to build has been destroyed in a few short years. Thank you Mr Moores
