If you gave Mario Andretti a Ford Taurus and me a Ferrari, who would win the race? Me! Am I a better driver than Mario Andretti? **** no. My point is that Roberto Martinez has as much of a chance to win with our side as anyone else because our team is soooo much better than Wigan. The fact that they are facing relegation each year are not because of the manager's tactics, it's because the economics of football are well beyond the club. They don't have the tools to compete. And yet, despite that, Martinez had them playing good football and kept them up.

If he had been managing Barca's players for the past five years, you'd think he was the greatest ever. But he's been stuck at ****ing Wigan and somehow the fact that they don't have world class players is his fault.

He is not my first choice, AVB is, but I am more than willing to give him a ****ing chance and not assume we're going to be Wigan from now on. Past performance is no indication of future results, especially given how many factors influence football results.... Players being the most important.

Maybe I need a break... This thread is doing my head in...
I stopped reading when you compared us to a Ferrari.. Not ignorantly, through be far too tired. Just because he's getting an improved vehicle so to speak doesn't mean he's the best driver.. See I made a point using cars too

I'll continue, how can the driver of a ford taurus prove he can handle a Ferrari? He's never drove one. Never dealt with the pressure to win and not just race.

If I dream about cars tonight, I'll be back to have words with you tomorrow

Fans are the biggest income this club has. If they're unhappy you will eventually know about it financially.

Edit: IF it doesn't work out.. Which at this point is a big IF because he's not even the manager yet.

I'm going to be honest here, I haven't got a clue about Klopp.

Why are people raving about him?
Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."

he does race tauruses though, maybe he's a decent racer? and by that logic, how does anybody ever prove themselves capable of driving a ferrari? we'd be in a world where they only people who could drive a ferrari were the people who built them.

LFC is no ordinary club and I don't feel taking a chance on a relatively unproven manager is the right road to go down. People jest how we are the new Villa etc but we are still one of the biggest clubs in world football and FSG really need to realise this asap if they are thinking of someone like Martinez.
He will be under huge pressure regardless. It's already started. Our fans are going to hang the new manager after a few bad results simply because he's not Rafa.

The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

It's one he'll of a risk to give the Liverpool job to Martinez. Yes he had a good second half of the season, and to let him have the Liverpool job based on that is ludicrous. Some of your statement is a bit, well over the top. Yes of ourse if he had been managing Barcelona for the last 5 years would be an excellent choice and would ave proved his worth (if he had in that dream succeeeed ) BUT he hasn't been at Barca he's been at Wigan, and only made them survive. I would hate him in charge, as I feel he would fail, and failure is something we can do without at the moment.
It's a prediction thread on a wish list.

you're right, they should surrender their own ideas and rights as owners because fans have an unreasonable lob on.

Yes, but that will be based on how the team performs. We'll sell out our season ticket spares this summer whoever is made manager. We'll get the same TV money. We'll sell the same number of shirts around the world. The appointment of Martinez won't cost us money. The way he performs as manager could of course.

"Ok, so they put £300m + of their own money on the line, but that doesn't give them the right to give a manager a chance who I have a gut feeling won't be the best option"
