To date they have said nothing, the way it should be all talking has been done by other outside agencies so well done to them for that.

But they have actually done little yet to justify the fans backing, both on transfers and the stadium project they have deceived to flatter.

I can see folk already have strong opposition on this but Moyes has consisitently top half and a good cup run this year. 5th/5th/8th/7th/7th ain't bad. Suffice to say he is not being considered and is being scoffed at because where he manages, not due to his abilities. At any other club he'd be a contender and most likely ahead of Messrs Rodgers and Martinez. Anyway, enough of his candidacy on this thread as it won't happen.

Never put your trust in anyone who's soul purpose for purchasing LFC was to make a profit. Thats not to say they'll do a bad job, but equally its not to say they'll do a good job either, we need to be cautious and after the last pair, some of us are rightly suspicious.

My concerns at the moment are based on the mass staff sacking thats been going on (time will show if this was right) and the what seems to be a pursuit of cheap managers. On the other hand, they could be taking risks which they feel are for the future of the club, but its a risky game to play all the same, especially with how the clubs been performing the last couple of years. The stadium is another issue, but they've said there will be some news soon, but we really need to get this moving now as we're getting left behind with match day revenue. Chelsea are in the process of purchasing land, Arsenal are now making pure profit on their stadium I think, and Man Utd are already there. Take away our CL revenue and we're facing an uphill task trying to gain lost ground on the top clubs.

Can't think of anything else and tbf, had Martinez or Rogers achieved such, many would be citing it as a reason for hiring them.

I was just curious as to how he's making the comparison - I'd be interested to read it.

tbh though, City took 4 yrs to win the title from when they were taken over, and with that level of spending.

How long do we realistically expect to wait ?

We don't have owners that are capable of doing a City, so we go with what we have, we don't have a choice in the matter, so taking all that into consideration, i don't know what more the owners can do.

It's a slow process from where we are coming from i'm afraid, H&G set this club back a decade imo.

The more I read about Rodgers, the more I'm warming to him. I don't necessarily buy the theory that if he's young and unproven he can't step up. To me, it's about attitude and vision. I hoped Kenny still had it but I now don't think he did, much to my sadness.
Rodgers has a vision, a philosophy, an eye for detail. All of the things Rafa had, but without the baggage or pig headedness that Rafa showed. Rafa fought the owners, but we all knew how that would end. If Rodgers is willing to work under a DoF who can protect and guide him, help keep the baying wolves of expectation calm, then I think we can have a very bright future.
LFC needs to be great again and that can only happen with owners and a manager who have long term vision. Which we have and are looking for.
The future may just be very bright, I am hoping so.
I agree, whatever happens now it's going to be very interesting and I think either Rodgers or Martinez would have us playing better football than the previous two managers. I'd rather take a risk with a young manager in the hope we can build towards something during the next 3-5 years than appoint a big name with big expectations and then everyone will be whining again this time next year.

Having just read through the last 4 or 5 pages of drivel (my own posts included), can I suggest that this be added to the top of every page of this thread please?

I agree completely. We shouldn't expect to win the title at all until we have a squad near in cost to the likes of Citeh, Utd or Chelsea. I don't think anyone really expects us to though, but we do want to be fighting for 4th, or 3rd should one of the above have a bad season.

I find it really odd how a club of this stature was so publicly available, yet these Oligarchs and Saudi Princes looked elsewhere.

If we have the right manager and DoF in place at Liverpool with a good footballing philosophy, a reasonable investment from FSG for new players. I dont see any reason why we can't challenge for the title.... Never mind Citeh, Chelski, Arsenal, Spurs, Scum..
I truly believe that we can go all out provided we have the right people in place...

Football is not about buying the best players all the time, its about finding the right balance in the team.

I don't agree with that. You only have to look at the winners since the premiership started and its only ever been won by clubs with squads that have cost within something like 10% of the most expensive side. If your squad hasn't cost anywhere near that you have no chance, no matter who you have at the top.

Could be, and if it was a problem for people with money to burn, it's a very big conundrum for FSG to get right.
