I have the impression Liverpool are not being coached or the players dont understand what is expected of them. Kerkez desperately needs to improve his crossing skills, it was embarrassing yesterday.
Substituions where poor. Slot dosent trust the kids. He makes subs too late.He has become paranoid about conceding meaning that he doesn't want the team to take risks.

    His time is up now.
Jacques Brel is alive and well and playing at Anfield

I thought that at first but, when I looked back at the relevant clips, players were not making trhe sort of runs that made crossing easy. For too long yesterday we would get an opportunity to put it across the box but there'd be only one player in the box. And we need also to bear in mind that, if it is Macca or Wirtz getting into the box, they are not tall.

That is possible, and likely in some cases, but it still would not explain why the basics are slipshod. They are professional players so basic stuff like quicker passing should be bare minimum expected.

A team's tactics can be poor, but the basics performed by the players should not be impacted as much as we are seeing and the fact it seems to be experienced players and/or ones at the club some time that are doing it does beg questions.

Could be the impact still from the loss of Jota and a number of players just not caring as much this season after losing a friend how they did. Could be players just going through the motions as they disagree with the manager.

The former is understandable and human, but the latter would be cowardly ****house behaviour imo.

When I see a player like MacAllister needing three or four time wasting touches before releasing a pass, or VVD doing similar, then sometimes it goes beyond tactics and questions need to be asked as the players rather than the manager being the one of whom all the questions are being asked of.
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Kerkez’s crosses were just poor though, they rarely beat the first man. It’s not like he is putting amazing balls in and there is no one there on the end of them

Kerkez looks like he's hitting his crosses with a 1 iron

Can you explain that for the non-golfers?

It means Kerkez is smashing his crosses hard and flat, like a golfer hitting a 1-iron, so the ball flies through the box too fast and low for attackers to react, instead of floating in with touch and control.

I’m starting to think the players just aren’t behind the manager anymore. We see little periods where they lift but I don’t think it’s coming from the manager motivating or driving them. They look like they’re doing the minimum to not completely blow the season and keep a top 4 spot open but are waiting for a change now.

I agree about the basic skills going. Those shouldn’t be happening and it’s not just a coaching and tactics issue.

For me the problem with the crosses from both sides is as much about when they’re being done than how. If there’s four defenders there waiting for it then you’re just wasting possession. If they’re running towards their own goal then a hard and low cross is fine, but we rarely seem to have runners attacking the front and back posts.

Regarding crosses, if its a quick break then you can play into the space between the retreating centre backs and the goalie for the attacker to run onto.
If the centre backs are in position then the cross needs to be a cut back.
Chipping high crosses into a crowded goal area result in a very low percentage of success.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

Fully agree. Can you tell the players?
