City parked the bus at Anfield last season, so I wouldn't rule it out.
    Oh I don't know.

That article someone posted says if anything Pep wants to control the game through possession, in which case yes we will be 2 vs 2 sometimes, but then they'll be 3 vs 3 sometimes. Big whoop! I'm hoping Pep ends up overthinking this a bit and we just go with the crowd and smash through them
Of the games they mentioned, which included the Genk one, we won 2 and drew one. BBC seem to oun hope that if City try it it'll be more effective as they're quality is better.

      Shut up BBC

They did and it served them well in the end but we did come 12mm from winning it. I'd be happy enough for them to do that again because with limited opportunities the game starts to get to Sterling and he fades

And that article was written by Stephen Warnock (ghost written of course).

He's never come across as particularly insightful, let alone as someone to give the likes of Pep advice.

I don't ever recall seeing articles going in to the nuances of beating teams, to mention the part about the space between central back and full back just seemed really unfair

They played a more restrained game for sure with emphasis on keeping the ball, maintaining shape and staying wide. They were terrified of losing the ball centrally and get caught in transition as they had done in previous games at Anfield

I’ll put it here as it applies is to both full backs - some stat if true:

That 3 5 2 seems to stifle us so much , what with only 34 points so far this season.

Robbo and Trent ****ing tremendous every week as well

We play one game where we struggle and the press make an issue about it.

Think some of the people in our match threads make more of an issue than the press.

In fairness, a lot of our play is from the wide areas. In fact deep wide areas. That's kind of broken football as thats not a usual area of the pitch you have to defend.

It's clearly an asset though as we have two areas for the team to worry about, and we switch the ball from side to side easily. In fact we top the league for doing so (full backs rarely pass to each other, in fact I remember being coached to not do that as balls along the back line are rarely cheered by the coach )

I'm rambling, but in essence if you think the attacking threat from the opposition you may put a defensive midfielder on them to nullify it. Like Man U did on Fabinho.

Wide is harder to legislate for, but 532 or 352 certainly puts defensive wide players into the team.

I'm not particularly arsed about it though as Klopp has shown he's not dogmatic about 433 and changes it to 4411 regularly through games and also the players are very flexible and versatile to new formations and positions.

                          Our style of play...

One big thing I’ve noticed this season is we aren’t relying quite as much on the front three for goals and assists.

The entire first team and most of the bench have scored this season.

Take the last week. Lovren scored last week and got an assist last night. Virgil scores two at the weekend.

This season the full backs have both scored and assisted. Hendo has scored. Shaq. Lallana. Gini. Ox. Fabinho. Goals and assists.

                          Everyone is sharing the load.

If we can tighten up a bit at the back we are going to be even more invincible. Invincibler.

We're not relying on the defence as much either.

Organised chaos. The opposition don't know what's gonna hit them, how it's gonna hit them, or when.
                            Oh I don't know.

Mad how we've played 12 home games this season and not kept a single clean sheet. We're worse at the back than last season, the front three have scored fewer goals, yet we're winning every single game
