They get carried away over everyone.

He just seems a tidy wee footballer. Like Big Chief says, he doesn't normally stand out too much, unless he scores one of his spectacular goals. Probably best way I could maybe describe him (from what I've seen) is a bit like a left footed Danny Murphy.

Not worthy of its own thread ( oh really you say) so I'll stick it in here

So you heard about the 13-year-old Dubliner who has signed for Liverpool?
In recent months we have had stories of Irish youngsters joining Real Madrid and Barcelona. Now a 13-year-old Dublin kid has been snapped up by Liverpool.

Hot on the heels of nine-year-old Zak Gilsenan joining Barcelona and eight-year-old John Joe Patrick Finn joining Real Madrid, another Irish football starlet is joining a big club.

This time it is 13-year-old Conor Masterson and he has chosen Liverpool ahead of the two Manchester clubs as he is a Reds fan.

According to today’s Irish Daily Star, Masterson has penned a deal worth €1m and when he turns 16 he will move to Liverpool full-time.

Masterson is well known on the Dublin soccer scene. The tall centre-back was part of the DDSL side that won the Kennedy Cup last month and he has already been called up to the Irish Under 15 squad.

The Lucan United youngster was pursued by Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea according to the paper but his heart lay with Anfield. The paper quotes Conor’s father, Ciaran: “Conor felt that Liverpool was the best place for him and that was the most important. This is just the first rung of the ladder for Conor.”

We wish him and his family all the best.
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

I wonder how that deal works. Surely a 13 yo can't be guaranteed €1m without even kicking a ball for us as most likely will happen.

Liverpool starlet Ryan McLaughlin has been handed his first ever call up to the full Northern Ireland squad for the forthcoming friendly with Finland.

The 17-year-old has been named in the 23-man squad for the match which will be played at Windsor Park on Wednesday, August 15.

McLaughlin joined Liverpool in August 2011 and has represented Northern Ireland at youth level.

The defender was included in the squad that travelled to North America for the Reds' pre-season tour and made his debut against AS Roma at Fenway Park.

Academy youngster Henoc Mukendi has joined Northampton Town on loan until January 1, 2013.

A talented attacker who originally hails from DR Congo, Mukendi arrived at Kirkby in 2007.

The teenager, who has British citizenship, is equally happy playing as a traditional No. 9 or in a wide left position, and he has been a regular in the U18s squad for the past two seasons.

This move will see the youngster gain valuable experience in League Two.

He's the one who's about 8ft tall isn't he? Never going to make it under Brendog that lad.

Looks like he's one we're loaning with a view to selling. League two isn't just for experience, its his level.

Michael Ngoo fired a hat-trick as Liverpool U21s beat Bray Wanderers 5-1 in a pre-season friendly on Sunday.

Rodolfo Borrell's side played some sparkling football at times and delighted the Irish Reds who were at the match.

Suso also netted with a brilliant free-kick and Nathan Eccleston added a penalty.

The U21s are next in action on Tuesday when they face Irish outfit Crusaders.
