Dear jesus that was criminal.
Everything that could go wrong..went wrong!! I like Rogers and it's so so early for him so not going to get on his back, but what i would say is that tactically we looked all over the place.
I was reading few posts saying Allen looked good, i like Allen but him and Lucas got absolutely outclassed and outfought in the CM. Personally i don't think Allen should have started. Borini look petrified.. was like a rabbit in headlights and looked so unnatural playing in the wide areas. Downing well... the fact that Rogers seems to like baffles me, he is a poison footballer end of story! Everytime i see him in a LFC shirt i get a cold shiver down my spine.
Suarez looked like typical Suarez, busy and causing problems but his finishing is nothing short of shocking, he is not going to be a goal scorer for us IMO and would be better served playing him on either side of that front 3. Now Stevie Gerrard... where does one start! The very least that you can do as a footballer IMO even if you're having a **** game is work! i thought gerrard was an absolute disgrace today, strolled around the park and did nothing! No determination,no desire and not a care in the world.
That was the worst thing for me was that we gave up... with about 25-30 mins to go we just stopped trying, it was a performance that for the first league game that we really needed to win.. was a bit embarrassing.
Rogers needs to get more players in, but if any potential target is looking at that ****e it will be no surprise if we are over looked as i'm sure it looks from that display that nothings changed with LFC.
Anyways really disappointed and bit frustrated, Rogers needs to get some quality in and develop some much needed continuity into the team. It's going to be a long road this season.
I hope it isn't another case of.. here we go again.

Indeed and I said that quite clearly in the match thread. He can certainly finish, just not often enough giving the volume of chances that comes his way. He needs to play off someone, that's how it is everywhere else where he scores regularly.Originally posted by Gibbo View PostI do agree with this, with Urguay he has Cavani amongst others helping him witj chances.
What I dont agree with is people (not necessarily you) implying he doesnt have the ability to finish, when he clearly does.
Now where's that beer

This concerned me most of all. That performance just seemed so un-Gerrard. I was a bit shocked by his lack of desire.Originally posted by danperkins View Post. I hope to see this.
Assiati - Borini - Suarez.
See how it goes for a match at least. (Hearts?)

Disappointing today. If Agger hadn't been sent off then who knows. Not much point being all doom and gloom. We probably aren't going to finish top 4 even before today's game; I think that's pretty realistic. Saying that, last season Arsenal were crap in the first few games and people could see them finishing top 4 and they did. It's gonna take time for everything to gel together as it did for Rafa in his first season. Nobody should be panicking after 1 game.Nowt wrong with lurking!

Feel the same mate. Its bloody hard being an LFC fan. seeing what we have done in the past and seeing the state we are in when only 3 or 4 years ago we had a fantastic team. The only thing i have left in the tank is hope.Originally posted by BrooklynRed View PostDisappointed more than anything. Was hoping for a good start, something to take the pressure off, get some confidence in the team. This is the worst possible thing that could have happened. To be honest, more than anything, I'm just exhausted with the constant disappointment; no one to blame but myself for having hopes up, but another year ahead of us and I'm just not looking forward to it. We're not guaranteed a redemptive storyline, maybe the good guys won't win in the end. Maybe I spend my adult life watching my team unable to transcend everything. Maybe 2005 was the ultimate for me. The further in the rear view success fades, the less I remember it. I mostly remember days like this. Tired of it now, but I can't help myself from hoping. It's literally all I have left. Exhausted.Last edited by Leyton388; 18-08-12, 06:44 PM.
