I think it's just us trying to slow down the hype train.

we can still modify or tweak the system to give us variation, but no good having to switch players around if we decide to launch it.
      morata please.

Sounds more like Belotti than Morata

I think the big difference is he would never get his chance at Chelsea, few youngsters do. With us he should get a few cup appearances, a few bench appearances, has a chance if we have a few injuries and most importantly will have a good chance of making the 1st team next year if he develops as we hope he should.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Doesn't seem like our style. If the naysayers on here are to believed about our transfer policies, then the club would surely have bigged this up as some sort of coup and another position filled, so they don't have to spend money on another attacker.

Also, not sure what hype would have to be played down when 99% of us had never heard of him.

Imagine this guy comes back firing? It's not impossible - we've got the squad depth to manage his game time. He was brilliant I thought in the run in. He makes chances for others with his movement. On form and injury free (caveats) he is a £50-60m forward in this market.

Cmon Daniel. Season of your life son.

We were without Mane for so much of last season as well... Original has potential to be top level. If... if...

If he stayed fit for 25+ league games and even played at 75% of his normal ability, he'd be a huge asset for us next year.

We'd have Firmino, Sturridge, Solanke, Origi and Ings on the books. One of them is probably going to be sold or loaned out.

Even if we played a diamond at times, when, let's say we have injuries to our wide players, that's still far too many forwards to have. I know folks say Solanke will probably feature more often in the U23's, but he was after first team football at Chelsea, and only played once.
I would assume that as of now (when preseason has barely started) we have a peaking order of:
                  1. Firmino - if everyone is fit he plays
                  2. Sturridge - a fit Sturridge is a good alternative to Firmino if we want to play a different way or as an option from the bench
                  3. Origi - Pacy option from the bench and cup player
4= Ings - Injuries have prevented him from playing for us, but seems to be a hardworking player, I can see him being a Kuyt-type utility player in the forward areas, I don't see him starting many game aside from cups but I think he could get a decent amount of last 15-20mins in PL maybe to give one of the wide players a break.
4= Solanke - new signing, needs to prove himself, not going to get many games initially aside from cups but if he does well he has the potential to shoot up the pecking order.

I think that there is a role for all of them at present, a couple of them will have to accept that they won't be in the match day squads though, Given the likelihood of injuries I imagine that will naturally rotate the squad. However if we bring in someone else something has to give.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

selfish *******. Could've at least helped the club out after we've given him so much over the last 3 seasons for **** all return.

What about Woodburn? He's pushing hard.

I think 5 strikers is fine. Especially with the mix we have and the lines of Firmino able to play in other positions.

I wouldn't go to China of I was him.

In thrifty these should be his best years right now.

Personally I hope we keep him.

He doesn't seem to be bitching about playing time and his last contract was signed a while ago so I reckon his salary is in the OK range.

He's a good option to have around and maybe he's helping out the likes of Woodburn a lot in the background.

He need a good pre-season and a decent injury free run. If he's able to to achieve that his fitness and sharpness will improve I reckon and we may see the Storage of old.

He's still a clever player and his finishing is world class but he's not dependable. I know he can't do much about being injured but he needs to work on conditioning and strengthening his body.

Does anyone really see Woodburn as a future striker? I think more of an Erickson or Garcia type player?
