Filipe Luis: "Coutinho is amazing and can make the difference. We discussed that he could play for top Champions League sides."
"Coutinho asked me how it feels to play in a Champions League final. He'd be welcomed at Atletico. He has the quality."

IF he goes we will be looking for 60mill + as that what I believe he's worth day in day out. It will be another sad sad day if/when he goes because we never replace a top quality player with the same quality

We will see if he goes for £60m. I highly doubt it.
          Are we winning?

Well Sterling went for 50mill and I convinced Countinho in a different class to him but, like you said "we will see"

I think our only chance of getting close to £60m is if Coutinho finished the Copa as best player by a clear margin. Even at that, I think we'd need a bidding war between Barca and PSG and I'm not sure either club want him that much.

The tapping up has already started, so if the clubs can unsettle Coutinho, they'll expect to get him on the cheap knowing we have no CL football. That probably explains PSG's paltry opening offer. I think £40m is a more realistic figure, although I wouldn't even sell him for double that.

Hard to compare him to Sterling too as City paid the English premium for him and it was widely accepted that they overpaid at the time.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Selling our best players every summer. It's the FSG way.

selling for him £50 mil get in Karius, Hector, Kante, Gotze for the same price

But in reality this fantasy football stuff doesn't work see summer 2014

It may be similar to Suarez where he can go to PSG/Arsenal type now or wait and get a Barca/Real move.

Out of the 3 of Firmino, Lallana and him maybe he falls victim of wanting to bring in something different

Sickening the way they forced Torres, Suarez and Sterling out of the club, players were begging to stay and those Yanks just seen the dollar signs. Then the way they shamefully lined their own pockets and didn't allow the club to spend the money raised on new transfers. Pure filth.

I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"

If Coutinho stays for next season, then for me, he's going to have to make that next step up. He's been with us 3.5 years now, and will be 24 years old tomorrow. His statistics have improved, but with the glimpses in quality he's shown, I think if he has ambitions of becoming a world class player, then next season is vital in terms of developing consistency in his general play. With the lack of games early on, he'll have training time to work on things like his shooting, passing, and settle on an awareness of how his teammates like to move.

If we sold him, I think he'll be a good player, but will still need to work on his weaknesses, and with better players around him, his development could take a quantum leap, which is maybe in his thinking.

Well we don't have to worry about him shining in the Copa America, as Brazil are so **** they didn't even make it out of the group stages. Classic handball for the goal though.
