Played deeper with runners in front of him and he is different class

Mane, Sturridge, Firmino and Costa say making runs in front of him would be tasty!

He was brilliant yesterday, one of the best performances I've seen from him.

Imperious. Even the West Ham defenders were in a state of awe the way they stood there watching him as he waltzed past them and scored.

Decent bit of pointing there at the end too. Looks like he's really matured this season. No chance Klopp will take the captaincy off of Hendo though but Coutinho looks a better candidate

I wondered whether playing Coutinho deeper was a nod at trying to resolve the problem of teams sitting deep and defending against us. I'm clueless at tactics but I can imagine that we're missing a playmaker from deep to catch the runs of our forwards, otherwise they're just running about pretty aimlessly.
          Really?

I'd say that was exactly the reasoning.

Next season I think we'll see more of the diamond with Keita (Please!), Can, Lallana and Coutinho in midfield. I reckon Henderson works best in a 4-3-3.

Firmino and Mané up front in the diamond but Costa, Firmino and Mané in the 4-3-3

We need a better left back and centre back and I think we'll be doing much better.

For the record, I'd keep Sturridge and spunk a massive load for Mbappe if it was possible.

Maybe but West Ham didn't sit deep though so we'll have to wait until another team does to find out.

They were **** - and unlucky. Should have had two goals at least themselves.

Philippe Coutinho has reassured Liverpool fans that he has no intention of leaving this summer to become "just another" player at one of Europe's big clubs.

Coutinho signed a new five-year contract with Jurgen Klopp's side in January but is still continually linked with a transfer away from Anfield, with Spain or Germany the predicted destination.

However, the 24-year-old has dismissed recent reports as "speculation" and believes he can achieve greater success with the Reds in the Premier League than with another club in the Bundesliga or La Liga.

"Stay here and they will end up building a statue in your honour," Coutinho told ESPN Brasil.

"Go somewhere else, to Barcelona, to Bayern Munich, to Real Madrid, and you will be just another player. Here you can be something more.

"I have a long contract with Liverpool. Speculation is for journalists only."

                              Uh-oh..!

Philippe Coutinho has described speculation linking him with a move to Barcelona as “complicated”.

The Liverpool playmaker, who is currently on international duty with Brazil, signed a new five-year contract without a buyout clause in January.

Reports suggesting he could leave Anfield have persisted, however, and when questioned about his future by reporters on Monday, Coutinho neglected to rule out a move to the Nou Camp.

“Talking about this is complicated,” he said ahead of Brazil’s friendly against Australia on Tuesday. “I have a contract with my club and it is long.

“So my focus is on the present and the national team. My focus is here,” he added.

Coutinho, who turned 25-years-old on Monday, became one of Liverpool's highest-paid players upon signing his new contract five months ago.

I have no problem with that......if he wasn't linked away it would only mean that he wasn't performing well.
