I want him to sign a new deal & stay. But as he wants to go, I want us to sell for a hefty fee.
    Forwards.......

spanish clubs insert buyout clauses because it's the law. whatever price we put in, it would force us to sell if it's met. if there's no clause, we can tell everybody to **** off if we want to.

do you really think they would put a figure--any figure--in messi's contact if they weren't legally obligated? i don't.

Of course I want him to stay.

Our best player by some distance and not someone who can be replaced. If he stays he'd give 100% every week still, not out of loyalty but because that's just the sort of player he is. I'm not sure he's capable of 'taking it easy' on the pitch.

The club should at least cash in on it and sell a lot of stuff like Hannibal Lecter masks if he stays.

UNLESS we could get another quality replacement in, which i doubt we could. I would like suarez to stay for another season, so we could fight for top four.

If he leaves, its 20 less goals. add another 20 and thats 40 goals, which is a huge ask. definitely better if he stayed for one more season.

I really want him to stay, but EVERY player has his price. We lost Keegan and gained Kenny, lost Owen and gained Torres, lost Torres and gained Suarez etc. Players come and go, but it's your level of intelligent investment in the transfer market that determines whether you improve as a team. I'd love him to stay and add £20m net of talent around him, as plan A seems to be for this summer, but if he went for £55m plus and FSG gave it all to Rodgers to reinvest then I wouldn't cry about it.

Might be difficult for him to stay anyway after his latest comments about the FA and Terry. Next time he even farts in the general direction of a ref or gets sent off he'll get a half season ban.

                      Sell.

For 40m+ and we'd get a much better team in the end IMHO, less individual flair but a better team.

If the hype is true and he wants out then sell him quickly for a minimum £50million

Yes he great to watch & scores goals but he's also a loose cannon that attacts lengthy bans with his stupidity that sullies the clubs name. What with the Evra debacle and the the biting incident (Still can't believe he did that, he actually bit someone) And he's done it before ffs.

I'm not surprised the press deal with him the way they do. He's easy meat for cheap thrill writers.

We've lost him for the next 6 games already and who knows what he'll do if he doesn't get his own way this summer.

Sell him now and move on, no person is bigger than the club.

He's our best player and we need to build the team around him. I hope he stays.

I have no negative feelings towards him, because ... well, it's footy, innit.

If he goes, we'll struggle to replace him. Even if we get offered €60m.

I don't share that view, I don't think we would have a hard time replacing him and getter a better functioning team out of it. Yes, we would have problems getting in a similar player, but we could easily get in better team players and strenghten some of our weak spots.

And personally I never really believed in building a team around 1 player - leaves you far to vulnerable when he get's injured or suspended for the next 6-10 matches. It's simply to risky building a team around 1 player, and especially one as Suarez.

And honestly to me it makes no sense the sentence building a team around a player. Then you have a team and a player rasied above the team, and it ruins the coherence and flexibility needed to compete. I can't really think of any succesfull team build around 1 player. Many succesfull teams have 1-2 outstanding player(s), but even then they are a part of a greater whole.

If Bale is worth 85m why are we even mentioning 40+ or even 50, we should be asking 70-80m. There are 3 years on his contract and he is bang in form for his country, all the cards are in our hand, **** Madrid and all they stand for.

Even if we don't sell him for 70-80, we may have to drop to 60 and Madrid will think he is a bargain against potentially 85m for Bale.

                                All fair comments.

I'm of the opinion that our attack functions a lot better with Suarez in the side. Yes, we looked full of goals whilst Suarez was banned at the latter end of the season, but it could be argued that our opposition were on their jols and we had nothing to play for.

As Reece touched on earlier, Suarez is in the top five players in the world. Could we get a player of a similar calibre to replace him? I don't think so. Yes, you're right, we could generate a *team* from the funds his sale would generate, but I've got concerns whether we could actually achieve that.

If you look at Rodgers' signings, I'm encouraged by Coutinho. Sturridge - whilst hitting the ground running - still causes me concern; I have reservations as to whether his form can be maintained. As for Borini and Allen, it would be unfair to comment after their stop-start season. I guess I'm saying that even with the money, I don't think we could attract the right player worthy of taking up the number seven shirt. And with that money I don't know if we'd get it right in the transfer market either.

I agree with your point about building the team around one player, I should have perhaps said that Suarez should be the first name down on the team sheet.

We're lucky to have Suarez, we need to keep him during what is a critical second year for Rodgers.
