I completely understand that point, and we won't get as good an individual as Suarez if we sell him (or at least very unlikely), but I still hold we get a better team out of it if we for example get Henrick Mthahhkldfasomething in and another player for the striker position. I would be happy with that swap, and we would even get more stability in the team and strenght in depth by adding 2 good players for 1.

We are lucky to have an individual as Suarez, and he is great watching when keeping his head - but in our position I don't think we can afford having a player like him right now - a team like Real that can easily replace him for the 8-10 games a season it's another matter.

Even if we don't sell him for 70-80, we may have to drop to 60 and Madrid will think he is a bargain against potentially 85m for Bale.
Because Bale's image rights are worth a **** load more than Suarez. He's younger and so they'll be able to build in all manner of clauses.

£55m for Suarez is fair methinks. That will land us some serious international/world class talent in 2 or 3 positions.

I don't agree with this at all. In our position we must do everything we can to keep him.

Yes we would get a lot of money but almost every signing is a gamble. If we sell Suarez we would get it almost impossible to sign another world class player.

Look at our squad without Suarez and every top class player would laugh at it and say no thanks.

Why do you think we are linked with a lot of promising players and not top class ones? They are the type of players we have a chance to sign.

Keeping Suarez is IMO a must. Sell him and it sends out all the wrong signals. We must show that we aren't a selling club or else every top class player will see us as a stepping stone.

It's a fair point. I don't think he's ever had an injury - or at least a major one - yet he has missed a fair chunk of games which I guess could equate to two thirds of a season (combined) ... which is incredible.

EDIT: Transfer Markt: Luis Suarez - Injuries & Suspensions

EDIT II: I'm useless at tables. Help! Please!

Rodgers want players that will fight for the shirt every week, players that WANT to win every week. In short, winners.

Suarez do some crazy things but the reason may be that he want to win every game. He is a winner.

If all our players had the same winning mentality then it would be great, fantastic.

We need players like Suarez that will work his socks off in every game.

The Evra gate suspension was a joke. You can't count that as a problem. The bite gate was a joke. Should have been max a four or five game ban.

The WC red card is something every player would do. He showed that he got the right mentality that time. If he hadn't acted the way he did that time then he really would have been an idiot that let his country down.

The only problem as I see it is the bite he did in the Eredivisie. No excuses that time.

You get suspended a lot more often for yellow cards in the Eredivisie because they don't have the joke English system. Five yellows and you get banned one game and after ten another one. Add that after a few months you scrap the five game limit. That is a joke.

Well, I can count it as a problem because it happened; I'm not saying the length of bans were right or wrong, I am just stating the fact that he has missed a ridiculous amount of football for somebody who is hardly ever injured.

It's tough to replace Suarez's heart and determination. I think we have to keep him.

Yes, it might be a laugh for a week or two. He can have the spare room.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

Rumours Madrid are going to bid big for Cavani so that door may be closing for Suarez.

I'd love it if Madrid don't bid for him and no offers come in and he has no choice but to return. After all the **** he has come out with that would be funny.
