Concur. Mid-term I could see Will Hughes joining us in Jan. Think an Allen-Henderson-Hughes trio could potentially offer a better balance in terms of defense, energy, retention of the ball and thrust.Originally posted by JohnDoe View PostWe need to bring in a dynamic central midfielder in January. Long term, we need two of them.
It's imperative we get one in by the winter window.I wear my heart on my profile name.

I don't think there is hope with Joe Allen. We need strength, athleticism, technique and defensive prowess. Will Hughes as a long term replacement for Gerrard in the summer as well as another established CM who can come into the first team in January is a good idea.Originally posted by I, Juan Mata View PostConcur. Do you really believe this? I want to. I hope its the case. But first half when we were on top and knocking it about, I was thinking who would he comes in for? Moses had pace and power, sturridge is goals, countinho is a magician and Henderson is a man machine. Suarez likes to slow it down and do his own thing. But second half, I can see his reluctance to let go of the ball being a positive thing. Be interesting as our points ratio is better without the cunt. But when the cunt plays well he's unplayable.Originally posted by Leyton388 View PostOnce Suarez is back we will be flying.Always borrow money from a pessimist. He won’t expect it back. Oscar Wilde

Suarez and Sturridge up front would be a nightmare for defences. When Suarez comes back, Moses is the one who makes way and becomes the first sub to bring on.Originally posted by BobTheCharmer View PostDo you really believe this? I want to. I hope its the case. Second half wasn't great but in the grand scheme of things that wasn't a bad point, we aren't going to win every game plus sakho will be better for that performance now he's got it out of his system.
Moses was a huge bonus on that showing, we have pace to burn which isn't something we've been able to say for a number of years.
Beat Southampton at home on Saturday which we should do quite comfortably and we're flyingKurtangled in the McFadden thread 16/01/08

Let's see. I think they both play best as the main man. I don't think anyone really compliments Suarez as its all instinct. Well, I think that you have a clue. Rodgers should play Gerrard in the same position that Rafa did, a free attacking position.
Henderson and Lucas in midfield.

Southampton at home next game, I'm hoping we put in our first complete performance of the season. Imagine how good it would be if this was our poor spell
we seen last season that when teams pressed us we struggled and that's probably got something to do with our 2nd half performances this season as well.
Looking back on that we moved the ball too slowly, didn't offer enough movement and support to the player on the ball and tried too many rushed long passes. Towards the end of the game, I think it was Henderson had the ball on the right and Sturridge, Aspas and I think Sterling were all standing within the same space as each other and effectively killing the move. Even if the ball was played into the area they would have been in each others way.Vive la France

I think Southampton is a tricky game. They are no mugs and have some decent game changers. They'll fancy their chances. In my mind we're not yet at that stage where any game is a banker. Home or away. So want to get to where utd have been and we were when I was a kid, where your home games against unfashionable teams were nailed on.Always borrow money from a pessimist. At the moment for me, it's one of Lucas and Gerrard giving way for Suarez. Partner either one with Henderson in a double pivot and let the front four of Coutinho, Moses, Suarez and Sturridge wreck havoc.Originally posted by BobTheCharmer View PostDo you really believe this? Jonjo Shelvey had a memorable Monday night as the midfielder played an instrumental part in Swansea City’s 2-2 draw with Liverpool.
The 21-year-old scored in the second minute but produced two sloppy back passes to allow Daniel Sturridge and Victor Moses to put the Reds ahead, before the midfielder provided the assist for Michu’s leveller after the break.
Here is the best of the Twitter reaction from the professionals, past and present, in chronological order to a thrilling encounter at the Liberty Stadium.
Injured Liverpool right-back Glen Johnson (@glen_johnson) is disappointed to miss out: “Huge game tonight. Wish I was playing!!! #GoodLuckLads”
Middlesbrough midfielder Josh McEachran (@JMcEachran20) is delighted for Shelvey: “Soooo buzzing for @shelveyJ.”
Manchester City defender Micah Richards (@MicahRichards) is delighted for his friend: “Sturridgeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!”
Manchester United centre-half Rio Ferdinand (@rioferdy5) is enjoying the game: “Two goals in three minutes! Mad start!”
Wigan midfielder James Mcarthur (@jamesmcarthur16) can’t believe the start: “Wow what a start to the game. What a start from Shelvey. #mnf”
Former Newcastle goalkeeper Shaka Hislop (@ShakaHislop) is impressed by the Reds: “Loving Liverpool right now. Probably the last thing LFC fans want to hear. #shakacurse”
Ex-Liverpool striker Neil Mellor (@NeilMellor33) hails Moses: “An immediate impact from Victor Moses with a brilliant individual goal on debut that separates the teams at half time #1-2″
Former Aston Villa striker Dion Dublin (@DionDublinsDube) notices an incident in the lead-up to Michu’s leveller: “Michu has warned Sakho not to show boat…. Who seen him do that?”
West Brom forward Shane Long (@Shanelong009) is thinking what most neutrals have on the mind: “Shelvey’s Fantasy Football points will be all over the place tonight haha! Fair play to him though, could have went hiding after first half!”
Reading striker Jason Roberts (@JasonRoberts30) didn’t like Mignolet’s challenge: “No problem with coming and claiming ball..but knee first..punching the ball..and your head clean off!!! Bit much!!! #strikersunion”
Some light relief from golfer Lee Westwood (@WestwoodLee): “The swan sea defence nearly parted then for Moses! Sorry! Couldn’t resist!”
Ex-Liverpool midfielder Dietmar Hamann (@DietmarHamann) felt Philippe Coutinho’s substitution turned the game: “Great game to watch. Fair result in the end. Liverpool better first half, Swansea better in the second. Coutinho’s substitution the turning point.”
England legend Gary Lineker (@GaryLineker) praises Shelvey for showing character: “Nice words from Jonjo Shelvey in his post match interview. He should hold his head high having showed great mental strength in the second half.”
Ex-Reds striker John Aldridge (@Realaldo474) is happy with a point: “I’ll take that result all day when we struggled again second half. It’s a little bit of a concern but well done to the squad.”
Finally, Liverpool legend Phil Thompson (@Phil_Thompson4) has some advice for Brendan Rodgers: “We cannot defend so deep in the second half of games.”
