Also now that everyone knows Rooney is on 300k a week it will mean any prospective new signing will be after mega bucks to sign for them.

Then you've got the players that will want to leave now they're not in the Champions League. I think there will be transfer requests galore handed in this Summer for them

I'm not saying they are a spent force as of yet, they still have a lot of money to spend to fix things. But even with all that money it's going to be hard work fixing an ageing, poor squad there. In all reality it will take them a few years.

In the mean time we've got to capitalise on their demise!
who you thinking of? I can only think of RVP, Vidic is gone allready and most of the team are has beens or never has beens.

Kroos coming in for 250k a week according to some rags......

Whatever about how we see ManU, they are a massive club and are perceived as such on the continent. If they're willing to spend, there may be a level of player/manager they can attract even without CL for, what they would hope, one season.

Their wage bill could be eye watering next season if that happens. Will rival Man City if not pass it if they keep going!

I think Van Persie will be the main one. I wouldn't even rule out Juan Mata wanting out too. He must be regretting it already, it was a poor career move by him.

Loads of their lesser players too: Kagawa, De Gea, Rafael, Valencia, Fellaini, Nani, Hernandez.

At least some of those above will want out. There's going to be major upheaval there and it's very tough to get off to a good start next season when that happens.

Why would Bayern Munich's Toni Kroos, of all players, want to sign for a team who are going to finish 6th or 7th in the Prem, no CL football and Europa League football at a push? Bizarre. I think it's absolute fantasy on Moyes' part.

Apparently Moyes has briefed journos that they think they have both Gundogan and Kroos in the bag. Dream on Davey!

Yeah the Kroos link is hilarious. Absolute fantasy land stuff. Who in their right mind is going to leave Guardiola's Bayern for Moyes' United?

He's tearing it up for them at the moment, there's no chance he's going anywhere, let alone a team not in the Champions League.

I think it's all PR bluster to satisfy thick, gullable United fans, of which there are many.

It's hard to say...........it's not the first time the Kroos link has appeared, and however rational it might seem to us to lay out reasons for why certain players would not want to move to a team that won't have CL football etc etc, there can be other factors at work.
I mean, given the state ManU are in, you wouldn't expect someone like Mata to walk in there, but he had his World Cup plans to think about (again, only an assumption).

There could be reasons why a player, such as a Bayern player, may want to move on......certainly if they went on to win the CL again this year. They can make far more money for a start, ManU are a massive club with a strong pedigree in world football, huge support etc etc etc
If they could be convinced to do without CL football for one season, ManU, with their resources, could achieve more success than most in a rebuild project than other teams in similar positions.

Not sure Moyes is the man to that (obviously), but it is a desirable job for someone.

If Bayern are only offering a certain amount wage wise for a new deal and Man Utd offer a stupid amount, then I can definitely see Kroos joining Man Utd. Similar to Yaya Toure moving from Barca in you offer a ridiculous amount for a player that Bayern can just replace. Not exactly short in that midfield department.

Is it really that unthinkable that they could attract such players if they offer salaries like those mentioned?

We're all in a rush to write them off for obvious reasons, but players may still consider a team that won the league not 10 months ago as an attractive move. Especially for big money.

Players are so short sighted these days. The fact that they won the league the year before last would be completely irrelevant for them. They look for:

                      - Money
                      - Champions League Football
                      - Chance of winning trophies.

Past glories doesn't even come into these days as us Liverpool fans should know well enough after being snubbed for Spurs several times!

Man United can offer money, and a chance of winning trophies going forward, but what they cant offer next season is Champions League football. That's really going to hamper them when trying to sign the likes of Kroos etc.

Wasn't there a direct quote very recently from Moyes along the lines of "The phone has been red hot with all the top players wanting to play here"

What type of comment it that??

So many layers of bollocks it's unbelievable, Utd conservatively need a whole 1st choice back 4 and at least 1 more centre midfielder.

That's 5 new players into a misfiring, struggling team so £100m transfers plus wages is a minimum outlay for them this summer without CL football.

And the list of other clubs that will be after the same players is endless, they aren't 'finished' but are now back in the ranks of most other clubs.

It feels like the same tactic he used as Everton manager. The number of high profile players they almost signed back then was hilarious.

4 points off the top puts us right amongst it. These opportunities do not come along often, so we have to do everything in our power to go for it. Worst we should be looking at in this position is 4th place. We can beat anyone on our day, even with a shonky defence.

Both my Spurs supporting mate in work and my Everton supporting mate are terrified we might win the league. They have us as nailed on certainties for top 4.

I think the style of football we play now has won us an awful lot of fans and an awful lot of respect from our rivals.

I think we're going to be everyone's favourite 2nd club again

We're the best team to watch in the league now, we really are.
