I think a draw away to Southampton won't be a bad result to be honest. A win would be immense (I think we will win by the way), but if we draw I hope people on here accept that's still a decent result in a tough away fixture.

They won't though of course, they'll be a mixture of suicidal and apoplectic with rage

Then he'll come back 2 stones heavier after his Summer holiday and hand in another transfer request

I don't mean to have a go at you by the way. I think you're just covering yourself by fearing the worst. That way you can only be positively surprised if we exceed your expectations. And if we **** up? Well you knew we would anyway didn't you you clever sod? Lots of people manage their fears this way. You're not alone in that.

I think this is all too good to be true for some people so they find a way to doubt it. But it is real, and it is happening, and all the stats point to us having an outside shot at the title, and being extremely strong favourites for a top 4 spot.

United have money to burn, make no mistake about that. They don't need a sheik. If players are willing to go there they can pay them the money it will take no issues. They pay 80m in interest every year and still make massive profits. And that before Chevy pay them 50m a season from next year plus they've a new record breaking kit deal in the pipe line.

They are a cash generating monster that put every other club in Europe in the shade bar Bayern and Real.

At this point.........draws are dropped points

To be fair, I don't expect it to be an easy game, but any of the top 4 who start to put together a run to the finish will more than likely win the league, and we are in a unique position to claw back 3pts from two of the other four by just doing what's expected of us.

That is a ****ing fantastic position to be in at this point of the season, with no European or Cup games to get in the way. We match what the others are doing, and win the games we're expected to and that's a point in the difference. If we go the extra mile with a run-in.........then who knows.

I have us 5 points ahead of City but City have two games in hand. How tense is that?!

I also assume we beat both Chelsea and City..

People were citing a poor league position and lack of Europe as a reason for Utd having no chance though.

That's why I said 'if' they were really offering such money, could we be so sure that a poor season and no Europe would matter.

If they were really offering players £300k a week of course some of them would join regardless of Champions League football.

They can't though (they have a debt to service), so it's not really relevant.

They could get one of two players that way, but it's not a sustainable tactic for them in the long term.

They are not City. They are not PSG. They are not Monaco.

I must say, after Spurs losing to Norwich & Everton losing to Chelsea, I'm starting to look up the table. Whatever happens from here on in, 4th place would be massive. But the chance is there to go for a higher finish.

I'd still have us down as least likely to grab it of the 4, but you never know. It's just massive pressure on us the closer we get. Even if we do the unthinkable and win our next three away games, we then still have likes of Spurs, Chavs & City to overcome at Anfield.

This season will never let up if we are chasing the title.

That's the hard part IMO (apart from ManU....I expect a win there).....will be expecting 9pts from the others at Anfield.

I'm looking on the bright side of our calamitous defending.......I think we've used up all our ****ups for the season, and now it's clean-sheets all the way.

                          11 games left

                          7 wins
                          2 draws
                          2 losses

would be a pretty good/realistic target

23 points added - gives total of 79

we'd be up there, we'd defo be top 4 - but i reckon we'd fall a few points short of the title

and personally i'd be ecstatic with that amount of points between now and the end of the season

The fact that so many teams are involved in the relegation battle means there will be less 'easy' wins towards the end of the season, less teams with nothing to pay for.

I can see all the top 4 dropping unexpected points, but realistically we are the form team, so we have to believe we can win it.

We have a genuine chance. It is in our own hands. It's exciting.

Yeah I get that, we were only talking about one or two players, specifically Kroos.

If this is accurate this is our best effort with 3 quarters of the league completed for over 20 years.

Good effort from Rodgers and the side so far.
