Massive game, great effort from both sides. Happy with a point. Mignolet was superb and Flanagan was excellent too. Thought Allen played really well before he missed the sitter.

Nevermind, we didn't do enough in that second half to deserve a win for me. The bitters wanted it more and created better chances.

We only really looked like we wanted it after going 3-2 down.

Lukaku needs to be signed if he's available. Every game he plays against us he torments us.

Being a derby, I don't think we can take as much as we'd want from this as a yardstick of our progress to date.

Yup but our spirit was commendable. Think it'll stand us in good stead come the end of the season. We kept coming back despite not being at our best. That's an excellent start to the season for us and I can't see us dropping off now. I expect us to compete for the title this season.

I can't help but feel that was 2 points dropped thanks to that atrocious miss by crab Allen. Great spirit to rescue a point but it shouldn't have come to that

A classic derby, first for a while. We've been spoilt rotten through the Moyes years - to go there and get a point when they are similarly positioned to us in the table is a good result. With some more luck and/or better refereeing we'd have won it.

Brave/stupid decision from Rodgers to go for the win after they equalised. Nearly went tits up with their third, but then the decision paid off with our ability to equalise, and then Suarez or Moses could have nicked it at the death. In the end his decision was probably vindicated, even though we sacrificed any chance of controlling the game as we all seem to crave.

Flanno was a huge positive too.

We deserved some kind of result and I'm happy we got it. Allen's miss was horrible. Phil Dowd is the definition of "blithering idiot." Very pleased we came back though. Liverpool c. 2011-12 and 2012-13 would've thrown in the towel after Lukaku's second goal.

I think he's a disgrace, and nothing to do with that miss. Didn't have a positive contribution from start to end. Waste of oxygen.

We need to push on now, that's just 3 points from their last 3 games for the bitters, and it deosn't get easy for them from here either.

It was a terrible miss but I thought he had an OK game. He's a good technical player, but he probably needs to step up and cement a regular place in the side now. He's got the ability.

Big statement there! Let's see how we fare against the big teams first but I do agree with you about our spirit. We don't put our heads down and we always have a goal or two in us.

So not quite top of the league but only a point behind!
