Yup ...Originally posted by elrichio86 View PostI wasn't particularly disappointed with the starting line-up - with the injuries / knocks it was probably pretty close to the line-up most of us would have picked. But god-dammit some of the fringe players let themselves down today. If we can't bring these squaddies in against Hull then its pretty disappointing. Toure, Sterling and Moses were all very poor.

Our midfield was non existent. Gerrard only contributed in dead play. Lucas contibuted in nothing. Hull allowed us to have the ball and we couldn't do anything with it. I think that if a team lets us have all this possession and our midfield is completely incapable of moving the ball effectively and creating something, something is wrong and the central midfield is at the very heart of it.Originally posted by Red_Polo View PostLOL
He did have an impact on the game and he wasn't dominated by the Hill midfielders at all! I mean come on, nobody in their right mind can think the Hull midfield were bossing this game?!

If Rodgers is playing players on form then Sterling, Moses and Toure shouldn't be anywhere near the first team for the foreseeable future. Get Agger, Sakho, Allen and Alberto in. Players that can trap a ball and ****ing pass the thing after 1 or 2 touches. Moses is ****ing terrible at it, the guy needs 45 touches to make a pass.Sack swinging like Dub-D40 on a door hinge

The amount of touches Sterling and Moses were taking Hull were able to stop for coffee before getting organised in defence. The pair of them were a waste of ****ing space.Last edited by spider-neil; 01-12-13, 06:54 PM.

So nothing to do with Hull dominating the midfield then.Originally posted by JohnDoe View PostOur midfield was non existent. Gerrard only contributed in dead play. Lucas contibuted in nothing. Coutinho, Sturridge, Suarez, Pepe, Alonso, Arbeloa, Garcia etc. not all count?Originally posted by kemm1 View PostAgreed, but it's the management team's job TO find them. If we can't sign the obvious superstars then we need to find the gems that's what they are paid to do. For some reason Liverpool hasn't signed a hidden gem since Hyppia, as a club we're just not very good at it.

However, what annoyed me more was the lack of changes Rodgers made early in the second half. I thought it was pretty clear that things weren't working for us, yet nothing was changed. With Sterling and Moses both dire, it left a pretty obvious gap in our tactics that left Suarez extremely isolated, and both of them should have been subbed much earlier.
Lucas, Gerrard and Skrtel all worked hard. That's about the limit of my positives from that though
Hey ho, we can't win them all
Good post.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Lucas gets dominated every time he's pressed. When he's not pressed, he just sits around and be useless.Originally posted by Red_Polo View PostSo nothing to do with Hull dominating the midfield then.
He's great when we're on the backfoot, have little possession and need to constantly defend. Basically, he's the perfect midfielder for a **** side like Hull.
