    All over - 1-1.

Good goal from Virtue, Tony Gomes played well and Dhanda looks classy. Masterton and Whelan were quietly effective. In truth though it was pretty dull apart from a few brief snatches of light in an otherwise unending darkness. Oh, and Hugh McAuley can't say the word "early" without sticking "doors" on the end - utterly incapable of it.

The Liverpool U21s is in a strange state right now, most clubs will use to to keep first team squad players ticking over, for fitness, plus of course actual U21 players but Liverpools is now basically a place for various 16 and 18s to get extra games!

I mean look at this lot - the Spurs game this time last year

U21s team: Ward, Stewart, Maguire (Pelosi 61), Cleary (Brannagan 77), Jones, Rossiter, Wilson (Trickett-Smith 61), Williams, Sinclair, Kent, Smith. Unused substitutes: Vigouroux, Randall.

practically every U21 regular from last season is now in the senior squad or on loan.

Yes, there were a few 17 year olds in there.

Just realized there's only one more round to go in the Finnish PL, is that maybe why we sent Allan there, so he can return to Liverpool sooner (and apparently he's been amazing for SJK)? His team are also top of the league, although two other clubs also have a chance of winning it in the final round.

Cameron Brannagan has signed a new deal.

                  from de echo

Liverpool U21 captain Cameron Brannagan has signed a new long-term deal at Anfield.

The highly-rated midfielder made his senior debut for the club when introduced as a substitute in the Europa League away tie at Bordeaux by Brendan Rodgers earlier this season.

The 19-year-old has been on the first team bench a further seven times between last season and this, as well as continuing to captain Michael Beale’s U21 squad.

Brannagan forms an excellent link between midfield and attack, with an eye for one-twos and combinations around the box and with goals in his locker too.

He did not appear in the last two U21 squads against Sunderland and Tottenham, as Jurgen Klopp apparently preferred to have a closer look at the young players in training at Melwood.

The Salford-born player has been with the Reds since the U9s team and the ECHO understands the new deal will keep him at Anfield until 2018.
not that long term but good he is staying.

Why did he leave last time? Which manager sacked him if they did?
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

For his name alone I hope Yan Dhanda makes it.
