He did well for Southampton.....Rodgers chopping and changing sides,new system and in general poor defenders and goalkeeper seem to have made him a **** player very short on confidence.Rodgers was so keen to sign him but poor Lovren was coming into a side which hasn't been able to defend for years,then again your gonna sign average players this is what you get

UNITED AND CHELSEA NEED £20M FOR VARANE
The latest bout of questionable information from the Daily Express now, who claim that Raphael Varane could move to Manchester United or Chelsea for £20m in this transfer window.

They state that 'reports in Spain suggest' that such an offer would persuade Real Madrid to accept. That's despite Jose Mourinho himself admitting that Real would never sell the defender.

We're going to remain unconvinced.

Doubt if he would see us and playing alongside the Martin Skrtel as the best career move. Funny that even know if we got him I'd still expect to see him paired with Skrtel and not his proven French partnership with Sakho. What was the ****ing point in signing him? Surely Wisdom and Ilori can't be worse than this chump? If they are, Brendan and the committee need to be removed from signing anyone ever again. Ilori should be recalled and given a go in the three man defence, he can't possibly be as bad as the new Phil Bad, he just can't be.

He's injured a lot Ilori but to be fair playing with one man less in defence is better than playing Dejan back there.

Not sure what he did wrong today? Think he was rash with one challenge and got a booking, but that was it. Why the hatred? Why can't people give players time to adjust? He's been very poor and is having a spell out. Let's see if he can work his way back in and then let's judge him then.

I haven't really seen Ilori play, but I think the three at the back which we are playing at the moment could have been good to transition Wisdom from a RB to a CB.

If we were sticking with three at the back, I think Wisdom, whom is stuck between being a CB & a RB would be ideal. Whilst the same applies to Illori I feel, who is rapid and good on the ball. For sure they'll be here in the summer and we can judge them then.
