      That tackle FFS

      What a swing.

The only reason the ref didn't give a pen, was it was soooooo late the ball had moved on so far that he wouldn't be aware Lovren was still making the tackle.

He reminds me of when I was at school, and the guy that was good at rugby had a go at playing football. He's really bad.

Lovren has lacked composure all season. I don't know if it's something that he has previously had but lost through lack of confidence. To me he played yesterday at times like he was in a blind panic. I watch Can play and you see someone with that extra bit of time on the ball and he generally gets it right. That kind of composure is a minimum in a team that plays from the back like we do.

We have a keeper who can't pass to a team mate and central defenders who panic in possession. To make matters worse we have physically weak players in midfield who if they dwell can't just put their foot on the ball and by a bit of time. If they do, they get steam rollered. It all means that when we are in that time period when the opposition are on top and are gambling & pressing us, we just can't cope.

Because invariably the ball ends up with a weak link. And our team is full of them. They will all put effort in and to a man will run through a brick wall with the odd notable exception. But some of that squad are just not suited to a passing game or to a top team in the barclays premier league. You don't get time in this league, not in a single game do you have ninety minutes where you can put your feet up and chill.

You have to be on it and alive all game, especially when you play in a team that just can't kill teams off. As much as I want a back 4, I'm just not sure this team is truly capable of it.

          He's balls isn't he

I can't think of such a catastrophic CB signing since the likes of Torben Piechnik.
Hard to believe he has any chance of discovering form or required quality.

          £20m.....!

A player can go from zero to hero pretty quickly in football, so I'll not write him off until he leaves. But he has shown little to justify the fee.

It'll never happen but we should totally sell. Until now I've thought let's give him a chance and see how he gets on next season, but I'd sell him tomorrow if I could. And I'd take £5m. He's rubbish.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

True, but typically they have shown some signs of quality. Lovren just seems to lack the fundamental skills to enable him to be a top CB.

Who knows, we are as well sticking with him than selling for **** all, and hope against hope that a miracle happens, and he at least works out his right foot from his left. It would be a rise that would shock Lazarus in its speed and likelihood.

He can use both feet. His tackling although at times is wayward, when he gets it spot on it's actually pretty good. His positioning in terms of eying a potential through ball and cutting it out is ok.

Apart from that he's ****e. He needs to learn to calm down a bit and relax, he's too eager to do something with the ball. Either get rid of it to another player too quickly, or hoof the ****ing thing away. He never plays with any time on the ball like Can does.
I know what you mean there are some aspects of his game that are quite good, the problem is as a centre back being great for 88 mins of the game isn't good enough if you make a couple of cock ups that are likely to cost your team goals. I think the biggest difference between a top CB and a poor centre back at this level is the number of mistakes you make to make that step up you need to be able to cut out those mistakes.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

That headed "clearance" was ****ing comical. Far worse than the hatchet job on Perez. He's a clown.

The fact that we are talking about trying to limit exposure to the defence just shows how poorly organised we are at the back.
It was totally makeshift Foggy. Johnson's off, and has been out of favour all season, Lovren is only above Toure in the pecking order and we played a 4 man defence whereas we've preferred 3 at the back for most of the season.

We have to play 2 deep lying midfielders in order to protect the defence which has left us lacking up front. Newcastle as gash, against Hull away will be a completely different ballgame

Thing is, he wasn't anywhere near this bad last season

He was never in a million years worth £20m, but he wasn't the Frank Spencer he's been since signing for us

He's obviously completely shot of any confidence whatsoever, which must be why he's making such bat**** mental errors
I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"
There's no water round here stupid, should have stayed where it was wet

He's doing his best to turn Mignolet back into a nervous wreck too though with his default slightly underhit back pass

Although by many accounts he was dreadful the previous season with Lyon.

He was. Their fans were delighted to be rid of him. He had a half decent half a season in two years and we spunked 20m off the back of it.
