Thanjk you.

Just wait. When we spend a fortune on VVD and still ship goals for fun, Matip will become the reason.
Wild theory: Klopp doesn;t have a clue how to set up a defence by keeping **** players in, they take the blame. If we had VVD,, Mendy etc and still shipped a load in then the manager would be looked at more
Matip is definitely starting to suffer from the chaos around him, but it is totally fair to wait until he has players who don't wear clown shoes all around him to judge whether he's just decent, or capable of being better than that.
It isn't all about personnel, but statistically we don't actually have that bad a defence in some ways. I'm pretty sure it was something like 7 in 10 clean sheets in the league, and in the bottom 2 for shots conceded in the first 4 games before City. What we suffer from more than anything is loses in concentration, especially when the ball is dead, and individual errors / players with too low a quality ceiling, and those things are extremely hard to deal with by coaching alone.
Our keepers are not good enough for our apparent level, the full-back situation is just odd, and Lovren has to rank as one of the most expensive disaster signings at CB in football, let alone just for us. What a mess.
I could not dig, I dared not rob:

Mine angry and defrauded young?
I'm not really convinced by Matip anymore. He's obviously the best of a bad bunch but far too quiet. I actually despair that we have not improved defensively one iota since Rodgers. Every window goes by and we do next to nothing. Klopp has to taken some of the blame. Piss poor coaching and recruitment. The last great defensive performance sadly was sahko against the scum in the Europa.
Sakho was also culprit of howlers from time to time, so not immune to criticism at all. On the whole it's a general problem exacerbated by our midfield which leaves them far too exposed.
All defenders mess up from time to time don't they, but Lovren's performance against Sevilla should be a source of some distress for him. He can't blame the team set up or lack of cover from midfield for an air kick clearance in his own 6 yard box, even if that lack of cover makes mistakes more likely, they shouldn't be playground errors.
Matip isn't flawless, but I do like the way he carries the ball into midfield - very Hansenesque, even if it does leave Lovren more exposed!
Many of Lovren's bad positional play was when he was dragged over to the left to cover the holes left by wannabewinger Moreno
I am no fan of Moreno but Lovren does this no matter who is played at leftback. When he's dragged out wide of the width of the penalty box his decision making is shocking
Bob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."
Moreno reminds me a bit of Roberto Carlos in the way he plays. Not that he is anywhere to that level before any smart ass pops in. He is in the mould of this type of player. Great ability going forward and not the best defensively. When this is nurtured correctly in a team, he is an asset rather than a liability.
As for Lovren, he is very erratic. It's a shame because when he is on his game he is decent. But I completely understand the mistrust. Klopp chooses to play him and he must be seeing something that we don't to warrant his trust.
The problem with with Lovren is that he always has these mistakes in him he seems to make at least one major mistake or stupid decision a game, whether that mistake is punished or not depends on luck or the quality of the finish from the striker. Against Sevilla the cross for their first goal went under his foot, he could and should have comfortably cleared that. Now all defenders make mistakes from time to time but the difference is that the top quality defenders make a handful of mistakes a season. Lovren is making them every week, I believe that he would be a good defender if he could eliminate these mistakes from his game, but I am not sure that he is capable of doing that.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I believe nGog would be a good striker if he scored more goals.
I believe Chaz Adam would be a better midfielder if he ran more.
I believe Balotelli would be a decent footballer if he had a brain.
