are there any top managers who have a CV that includes turd polishing.
Rafa took Toure, Biscan, Baros, Le Tallec etc to Champions League glory...

i know, but we cannot change the whole team in one season. whoever comes in will find that these part timers will form the basis of the team.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

We also had Gerrard in his prime back then.

It's all about players though, isn't it. Don't think Mourinho would win anything with this squad, never mind Rafa.

This is largely Rodgers' squad though.

He didn't inherit many of the players we currently have on the books. Gerrard, Lucas, Skrtel... who else?

Yeah but it's not like there hasn't been money invested in the squad. No one is expecting a title challenge every season, but some quality in the squad is a bare minimum. Even our best are highly inconsistent & our worst are wastes of significant amounts of money- quite a few of whom were called as going to be that way by people here.

Management includes recruitment - and my main gripe is not that we lost today, it's the utterly unacceptable manner in which we did. I have more drive & application when having my morning **** than the vast majority of our players did in an FA cup semi today.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

We also need to add some solidity to the team but I think that can/could be done tactically (or with a new coach).
Huntelaar? More so, is he attainable?

Sissoko from Newcastle would add a bit of steel. Khedira?

He wouldn't score a single ****ing goal. Our current strikers rarely get chances to miss, a 6 yard poacher like him would be useless.

Bit unfair that, he's more than a 6 yard poacher to be fair.

What if we got a supply line in for him or someone else next season. I'm sure we'd get goals.

                            I think he's attainable, he's still decent and he's a proven goalscorer.

Our current forwards don't even make the runs for people to play them in though. Sturridge is the only one that regularly looks to make runs in behind. The others have a completely different game and/or sit waiting for something to happen.

Lambert has scored goals throughout his career. He's hasn't the pace to run behind too often however I think our use of him has been bizarre, today underlining that. I wouldn't have bothered if I was him. I think rather than blame our forwards, I think its the way we try and play that is at fault. If you don't have arms you can't wave, so if we don't have the tireless runners in the squad, play another way.
