Not really. Catch up only amounts to anything towards the end of the season. And sometimes it can be the opposite, your rivals have lost and you go into a game pressure free.Originally posted by RichC View PostThe Thursday Sunday cycle of games also puts the pressure on of having to play catch up.Forwards.......

I understand people say they don't like it, but for the life of me, I can't see why. There is no single reason why it should be any problem what so ever.Originally posted by RichC View PostIt does and I'd say that the results over the years would back this up not to mention hardly any football manager likes this cycle of games.
Even the playing catch up argument is rubbish. In general a certain amount of points will you have you in a similar position each year. About 86 and you're in with a decent shout of 1st/2nd. 76 points and you're in with a shout of top 4. 40 points and you're generally safe.
This season people started saying it'll be a high number of points needed to finish 4th. It's not going to be. It'll be about 76 again. Same as every season. So if we want top 4 next season, forget about everyone else. Just look at six game blocks and aim for a minimum of 12 points each time. Reach that and you're on track. Exceed and you can aim higher. Fall below and you're in trouble.
As for the rest periods, it's all similar. Only difference as I say is you could end up playing one of the big boys on a Sunday, you'd have played on Thursday and they may have only played Tuesday or Wednesday. So less rest period. But as shown v City this season, you can overcome that with the right mindset.Forwards.......

Use it as an opportunity to give the kids some proper experience and the guys on the periphery of the team or coming back from injury some game time.

I'd like to see it, but it would be the biggest kick in the balls possible for Balotelli, Lambert and that other little Italian chappyOriginally posted by Shaggy View PostThere's a rumour going round Twitter that Yesil will be involved and may even be starting.
I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"
There's no water round here stupid, should have stayed where it was wet

Not a single **** and all that. Yesil has fought back from two serious injuries, his passion to play ****ing pisses all over them.Originally posted by Fierce View PostI'd like to see it, but it would be the biggest kick in the balls possible for Balotelli, Lambert and that other little Italian chappy
I will say that I don't include Lambert in there as I don't think he should have been bought and has been mishandled. I think he's a great pro.Was muß, das muß.
