[EL] The Football Club Of Augsburg (H): Post Match Thread
Considering they are a poor side who where missing most of their first team and we could only win by a peno in 180 mins.... Imo we were ****. We had nearly our strongest side out. This competition has a lot of very strong teams in it. Dortmund and Napoli will be very tough to beat.
And I don't look for barney's on here, doesn't stop them looking for me though
Some clueless, miserable tits on here who don't deserve occasions like Sunday. "Poor" and "****". Christ it wasn't great but nah, it was decent, we got the job done and should have won by more, hardly the end of the world. Some spoilt beauts "support" us.
**** off Chris and stop being such a bellend.
If fans want to moan then we've every right to. That wasn't great and there's always areas in which to improve, wish you'd stop labelling people who have a different opinion to you as beauts, for **** sake we're allowed to have different opinions to you, you're not the only one that supports the club.
Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."
Always, keep your face to the sun, and shadows will fall behind you.
We were ok in bits and we were poor in bits. Our main problem at the moment is that pretty much any team can score against us and we rely on them being ****e not to. Combine that with being goal-shy and we're in for a lot more heartache before we change things.
Compared to what we expect (perhaps unrealistically), but more empirically considering how much our squad cost and how much we pay in wages, that was a poor performance.
Glad we are through to the next round. A few players got an early mark with Sunday in mind so happy days.
Oh & how did Tex go in his short time out there?
He didn't have much to do, but kept hold of the ball well the few times he had it.
First time he got the ball he kind of paused and the. Realised it was ok for him to beat his man, which he did, and then kept hold,of it.
FWIW I'd quite like to see us play with Origi and Sturridge, maybe give Bobby F a game on the bench.
Not taking our chances makes us seem more ****e than we were imo.
But i have to say, i'm starting to get a tad worried about City at the w/e, if we don't play well, or don't take the chances we create, and they play well.. ouch!

Who's said it was great?
I'm entitled to my opinion too you weird sex pest.

We weren't ****e, but we weren't great either. We didn't deserve to lose, and we did enough to win by a few more if we'd taken our chances.
We will need to improve a lot if we want to win it though. Anyway, what did Kloppo say he always calls it accurately, and I think he was prettyissed off with the midfield in particular.
...I can't believe there are still 16 teams in this, tournament is way to long.
Not many quotes but seems content enough!
“If you don't decide a game early enough it can be like this,” he said.
For 70 minutes we couldn't see their plan, but then they could change the strikers and play the long ball. The free kick at the end was the biggest challenge for us.
“We only had the one problem, we didn't score often enough. You can see that we deserved to win the game, but we forgot to make this decisive goal, and it is our problem at the moment.”
But Klopp was relieved he has no injury problems for Sunday, and he said: "It was hard, that is how it should be, but we are in the next round. After the game with a 1-0 I am completely fine as I know there are no injuries.
“It is good for Sunday - better than if we'd have a defeat. This game is not relevant in that sense, but the team has gained confidence from the performance. We will try our hardest to produce a good performance on Sunday.”
Have to agree with the **** argument. I feel so disconnected from this current team. Have watched every game this season but only enjoyed a handful. I can't put my finger on what it is exactly but it seems to be something or someone different to blame every week. I'd say that comes down to the fact that we Don't have any exceptional players (bar Sturridge, maybe). We don't have a reliable team at all and it makes it difficult to have a favourite player or players.
Anyway, I'll be crying if we beat man city in the final even though I don't think we're very good. I think I'm within my rights to be enthusiastic about my team even if I don't rate them
Coutinho, Firmino and Sturridge just need to accumulate game time, its hard to credit this was just their second game playing from the start.
The real issues are in the middle - if Henderson doesn't start the League Cup I'll be happy enough, tonight he was either wasteful or too gung-ho when some control was needed to take the wind out of Augsburgs sails.
