He has occasionally looked okay, he had one decent season partnering Carra (Carra's last) and that's it. I'd forgotten how nice it was to see centre backs avoid shirt pulling as a defensive tactic then on he comes and within a few minutes he was at it - just depressingly predictable.Originally posted by RichC View PostTerrible display from Skrtel, fair play to the guy he's always given his best when playing for us but he created blind panic at the back today when he came on.
Hopefully we can bounce back from this quickly especially with the Dortmund games coming up.
Anyway its impossible to see him surviving the summer cull with Matip arriving and Gomez returning.

The thing is we'd started to gather some momentum before this game, we actually looked like a half decent team. I still can't comprehend how the introduction of one player could unsettle the team so much, we were comfortable in the first half. Okay they brought on two robust players that helped them to take control of the midfield, still doesn't explain why our defence fell apart when Skrtel took to the field? Everybody turned to **** in the second half.

The only hope is Klopp hs seen how obviously ****e Skrtel is like he saw how highly ineffectual Ibe has been this season. And promptly drop(ped) them. City losing has done us a HUGE favour as I'm still on for fourth even if others in here might not be.
Our ending fixture list is kind. We can beat Spurs at home, even a draw is good. After Spurs we just need to put a run of wins together as City/Utd and even West Ham will drop points. We have Sturridge, Origi, Coutinho and soon Firmino coming back to top form. That's enough firepower to enure that run happens. One tit for another.

Yep, its ****ing gutting. 4 wins on the bounce, 4 behind 4th with a game in hand and fixtures ofOriginally posted by TheElephantMan View PostThe thing is we'd started to gather some momentum before this game, we actually looked like a half decent team. Home : Tottenham, Stoke, Newcastle, Watford, Chelsea, Everton
Away : Bournemouth, Swansea, West Brom
would have been lovely. Mostly teams with nothing to play for or just **** like Newcastle and us the form team. Feels like that was an enormous chance missed to be genuinely in the race, now it's back to "well if x loses there, we win there, we'll only be x behind" and that never seems to work out well.
We'd have been better off playing with ten men than having him on, at least everyone would still know their roles then like at Palace, this fella creates utter madness on the pitch, leaving gaps, dropping deep, it's complete chaos. it's not like Klopp hasn't seen what he's capable of either, he cost us the games at Newcastle and Watford in his last appearances before injury. I get subbing Lovren but I'll never understand putting this fella on.
