If that's true, than maybe we should just enjoy this season and say our goodbyes next season. That's figures that will get clubs into trouble.

It’s not the BBC, it’s Football Insider. One of the most unreliable sources going.

It all depends on what someone is prepared to pay for him too though. In reality it is PSG, Real Madrid or maybe Newcastle that would pay him salary of that magnitude.

Only possibility there I think would be Mbappe to Madrid and then Salah to PSG. But I'm not sure Mo would fancy that club.

I think something like 350k per week and added performance based pay that would take him up to 500k will probably work all round.

I love him and would be willing to see the club break the bank to keep him, but I do also think that he's maybe not worth 500k a week for other clubs, he's a perfect fit in a system that gets the best out of forwards like him. If a player like Raphinha was playing in our system with Bobby and our set up, I think he'd be worth a lot too.

Not meant to talk Salah down, wouldn't exchange him for anyone now, but I think a lot of his success is down to Klopp and the team, and he might not replicate that elsewhere.

There is definitely a compromise solution. We are looking at approx £20m per season over a 5 year contract - so £100m to see the best player in the world continue to play the best years of his career at Anfield.

Factor in we got him for, what £35m...

The other factor that we (the club) have in our favour is his desire to be viewed as one of the greatest ever. If he were to move he starts from scratch a t a new club, zero goals and perhaps a team set up where he is not catered to so perfectly and a new club history where he is competing with other icons.

He is already at legendary status at Anfield, and is well on his way to being viewed as one of the most important players in our history up there with Gerrard and Dalglish. These things clearly motivate him.

I think it will happen, I think timing is one thing, this is clearly a decision that can be spun as a positive news story for our supporters all round the world.

He is just behind Klopp in the importance of where we are right now, both irreplaceable.

I don't believe that 500k figure reported. He doesn't seem that sort of money grabbing mercenary. He seems a humble guy with a love for the club who just wants a top contract to allow him to spend the rest of his career with us. I do think he will settle around the 350k mark and he would be worth every penny. Its a tremendous boost to us to have the world's best player on the books.

The £500k is bollocks and only coming from a single clickbait source.

If it were true, then he’d effectively be trying to force a move with a demand like that.

£400k or there abouts is what most sources are reporting, which sounds much more realistic.

Agreed. Click bait dressed up by the BBC gossip page.

How do the negotiations work...will the agent have a brief from Mo about what sort of offer would be acceptable, or does the agent do it all, based on the going rate for other prime forwards, and Mo is just a passenger at the moment? (He maybe gets a say if a stalemate is reached but he really wants to stay?)

It's on their gossip pages, that's hardly reporting it.

Their gossip page is just a round up of what other sources are saying.
It’s not the same as the BBC actually reporting it.

If they actually publish the story themselves, then feel free.

But they haven’t done that, they’ve just aggregated what other outlets are reporting.

It’s not pedantry, it’s a completely different thing
