Salah is 12 in 17 this season, it’s just that he only has 4 in the League.

    Nunez is 7 in 15.

    Firmino 8 in 18.

    The issues lie elsewhere.

Mo is looking very sharp. Outstanding today.

It's a shame but it's like we're starting with 10 players every match.

He can still score goals, he's our most clinical finisher, we need to try and do something that gives him opportunities to score. He can longer play wide. He is totally ineffective. He has no burst of pace, he beats no-one. It's so easy to nullify him.

Your world class players should be able to pull out results when the team is off form. He offers pretty much zero threat. He's unable to carry the team. Reminds me of Ronaldo. He can still finish but the rest of the game is way off his prime. He's never getting back to the old mo.

            That contract seems nuts.

But as I said, he scores more than anyone else we have, so we need a formation, a way of playing that gets the most out of what he has left.

It's like we're trying to play the same way as old, but like a punch drunk boxer, we can't see clearly and are playing on instinct only.

Alot of this is very true but Elliott imo is hampering him so much and Nunez is just so erratic, the team has no identity or balance anymore. Elliott does nothing on the ball, doesn't pick out Mo's runs and Mo ends up running back covering as Elliott is horrible defensively.

Get someone with some quality, pace and it's a different Salah imo. But what you're saying isn't wrong, he's hesitant and not as sharp as the match winner he has been for us.

He gets double marked every game because teams know he is our only goal threat. Not having a counter.foil is really impacting on him.

He’s about the only player I’m not worried about. It’s been a real nightmare that one or other or both of Diaz and Jota have been injured since last Jan.

The beauty of having Mane causing problems down the left and then Diaz - teams can’t just double up on Salah.

All respect to Ox but they don’t need to double up on him.

I don't know why we don't play really deep away from home. Keep the centre backs on the box. Then hit long balls to counter attack. Mo is better running onto balls and nunez is so quick. By pushing up, we nullify most of our assets.

I think we’ve reached the point where we have to sit deeper to protect ourselves. Otherwise we risk shattering the team’s confidence and its mentality when we keep getting cut open on the counter.

As you say the added benefit is that it would give Salah and Nunez some space to run in to.

At least the "he's tired" excuse has been given a rest (for now).

Justified point that, one that's been mentioned before. That's why it's so important that we don't go behind in games too

It's also the fact that Elliott is in there getting in his way but the player who would be looking after Elliott can go and be that extra player on Mo.

Also I saw a stat flashed up that he has missed 12 big chances in the PL this season, only behind Nunez who is on 15.

                                * Not sure what constitutes a big chance but that's alot of chances going begging...
